Hi,ive got a Rav 4 edge 2002 auto,the gauges have stopped working and only after removing them then fitting them they start up again,but when the key is remove then put back in to start they die again.3 auto electricians and one recomendation to get gauges serviced at a cost of $200 to be told theres nothing wrong with them than today Toyota had the car for a day checking ecu and electrics,they said they dont no whats wrong and to bring it back next friday.any ideas?

Just an up date,spent the day working on the car and when the door stays open gauges and key in alarm are fine and when i shut or depress the drivers door switch the key in alarm and gauges stop working,any help?a short in the door switch may be?
