I have a 100 Series on dual fuel, I am not sure of the economy on petrol but I am only achieving 25l per 100km on lpg around the metro area with some 80km cruising. I have a snorkel fitted to improve air flow, I recently read about the aftermarket air filters (the layers of sponge soaked in oil) causing problem, I am going to buy a Ryco paper element filter and see if there is any improvement. Can any one else suggest ways of improving the economy from "super heavy to just heavy consumption"! What are others getting from their LPG powered beasts?

Hi,

I have a 1998 100 series (FZJ105) with dual-fuel. A friend has the same model running on Petrol only. His consumption is around 600km on both Main and Sub tanks. I get around 900km. On LPG I get around 300km on 74l. This is roughly the same he gets on petrol. As we know, the BTU's for LPG is quite a bit less than petrol. This = 24l/100km or 4km/l on LPG and 16l/100 or 6km/l for petrol. With my combined distance of 1200km it gives me quite a touring range.

My friend gets 4km/l on petrol. I think we should count ourselves as lucky I suppose.

Cheers
