Rav4 ZX6 7 seater

just recently bought a rav4, so far so good.

just added side steps with blue lights which looks pretty good but the reason for this post is that i have heard that the overseas model comes with a dickie seat which makes the rav4 7 seater, when not in need it can be folded away flat

my question is that is it possible to get it in australia and would the kluger rear seat fit in to the rav4

I agree, I wouldnt recommend the third row seats in the RAV.

Exactly.

Simply there wouldn't be enough space between 3rd row and the back...this means passengers will be in very much risk

of being hurt of a even slightest impact from behind....

So not recommended...

I thought about this when I was considering a RAV4 (I ended up buying a Kluger) and I think you should be able to import all the parts from the US (cost could be massive) and then install them and have them signed off by an engineer. There are a few places that install generic dickie seats, that look pretty ordinary in terms of aesthetics and safety, in much smaller cars (eg: Forester) who might sign off on it for you for a fee. Then you can have it registered as a seven seater and everything is legal ... I believe.

Here are some websites:

As for safety, well it's up to you whether you're satisfied that it will be safe. At the end of the day, they sell the exact same setup you'll have using the US parts in the US.
