As some of the WA members know i have sold my Yaris and moved onto a RColt. Hopefully the buyer of my Yaris joins the forum too. Anyway its been a very long wait trying to source a low km one in WA and i finally got one after 5 months of waiting and looking. The car drives great in stock form and is a good package overall. So im really happy with it for now, but might plan some things for it in the future. Here are some photos of it that i took with a point and shoot, but when i get around to using my DSLR i'll post some better shots.

Nothing wrong with photo spamming your car! Must admit I love taking all sorts of piccies of mine too :D The Canon takes very nice pics indeed!

Very nice RColt you have there, it looks great in silver :) Any immediate plans?

Thanks! Used Canon Speedlite 430EX II and LED Torch.

so all you do is set it to 30 sec exposure and wave around like a mad man with your led torch? or did most of the light actually come from the flash? because the lighting is so soft...normally with flash you get such hard edges and shadows <_<

Also in love with your photos, I'm going to hazard a guess and say that you left the exposure open while highlighting different areas with the torch?

Either way, looks fantastic, will be keen to see this beast during the meet if you're coming :)

Haha thanks! Yeah it does, though did pay heaps for the lens itself.

More plans in the future for sure, but not to immediatly. Most likely just some lowering with Pedders Springs first in the near future.

Haha yeah pretty much, but i think you can get an manual trigger to set it longer then 30 sec exposure in BULB mode. But i haven't tried that. I just do 30seconds for mine. Only flashed 2 or 3 times at different angles during the 30sec exposure at full flash. But rest is just lighted at certain spots with torch, obviously not fast all over...you will just get the fast light lines on your car. lol.

I use to only use just the torch with the same settings, but i think it use to be slightly harder to fill out some parts of the car sometimes. With the flash it seems to fill in more. To be honest its the first time i've used Flash + Torch. I've only ever done it with Torch as i said just then. Haha. So it was more trial and error.

Thanks ImPulse, yeh pretty much i said in previous reply is what is done and is what you mentioned anyway. Haha.

Yeah will see if i can make it. Will be good to meet some new faces, most of the old group don't show to often nowadays.

Just a little update.

Im pretty noob when it comes to automotive DIY. But thought i'd do some learning this time.

Woke up this morning to install my K&N Panel Filter, decided to not undo piping but instead go the remove the battery route. Followed a guide on the RColt.com forums. Was actually pretty easy, and yes the battery is fairly heavy. Lost abit of skin taking it out. Should have wore some gloves. Haha. Anyway just put it back together. Took about 30mins or something. Just have to redo my radio stations, clock and settings. Then should be all good. For all that don't know, our engine bay is really tight and the battery sits right next to the air filter box and you can't lift it off because of the strut bar. So its an effort to get to.

Going to take it for a drive now!

My old filter was abit black on the bottom, and my car only has like 12,400km on it now. Must have collected abit of dirt before it came to WA. Here's some pics:

Went for like a 15min drive, sounds queit abit different to the stock filter when spooling up. I could hear my old one too, but usually with the radio off and it sounded abit more whiney high pitched.

The K&N panel filter obviously sucks more air, and has abit of a deeper sounding high pitch noise....if that makes any sense lol. But sounds queit abit louder then the stocky, which is great. Overally really happy with just the extra noise of air suction and spool. Don't seem to get any venting of air that some people have described on other K&N threads, but probably because i'm running stock boost. Performance feels the same, but maybe very slightly smoother.

Got it lowered today with king springs...here's a pic.

Only issue is that it makes a clunking noise over some bumps and when i turn at a medium pace....but im going back to the workshop tommorow to get the people who installed it to re-check it. But overall really happy with how it looks now. Alot better then stock for sure. Haven't tested handling to much, till i fix the clunk. lol.

Need moar low haha! Doesn't seem to matter how low you make a car everyone wants it lower... "But its dragging its chassis rails along the ground!"..."If its not dragging its oil pan its not low enough!".

Looks much better lower, so when you getting a dump back exhaust? Turbo cars make sooo much more power and response when you let them breath.

Haha thanks Aaron. Its low enough for me...i don't need hella flush scrape low. :P. Its about 2 finger gap all around anyway. So i'm pretty happy with the height and practicality.

Maybe when i save up enough, get the cat-back, front pipe, dump pipe housing and the reflash. But that's like at least $1500-1800 or something....so won't be anytime soon.

Looking good Rui! Where you been anyways?

Haha, Andy well that price is just for Stage 1, there's up to stage 3 tune which cost more up to 4k+. That's just with the Stock ECU - Reflashed though. Not an aftermarket ECU. Thanks. Anything new with ur mx5? I've been around! I don't see you on MSN anymore. Haha. I'm usually online.
