Hi all, trying to diagnose a problem with my 93 commuter, RZH125 chassis, 2RZ engine (2.4L carburetted petrol).

The 60A fuse keeps blowing. It looks like it connects to the alternator, but the wiring loom is encased so I can't tell for sure and the loom diagrams on toyodiy.com are no help. I've bridged it a few times, and it'll work for a while then suddenly, randomly pop. When this happens, the engine keeps running as long as I keep the revs over about 1200rpm.

Just today, it's been blowing as soon as I turn the key to 'on', before I even get to firing the starter.

Any ideas on what might be going on, or what diagnostic to try next?

I just pulled the plug from the back of the alternator, and the fuse still blows when I turn the key to 'on', does this mean my alternator is ok? What should I try next?

A schematic of the wiring in this hiace would be excellent, I really need to find out how turning the key blows a 60A fuse without anything else dying
