Hi all.

New to this Forum so I hope I am doing things correctly. If not please advise and I will not do it again

So here goes.

I need to replace my water pump as it is leaking.

Gregories workshop manual says to remove all the fan belts and the fan belt pullies, this I understand.

But it then goes on to say I should also remove the timing belt cover,

the timing belt and tensioner as well as the cam shaft sprocket and the oil seal retainer.

Now looking at the photo in the Gregories manual it appears that after the fan and A/C belts are removed plus the pullies, the water pump looks to be accessable for removing.

What am I missing here?

If someone has had experience in replacing the waterpump before, would you please advise as to why it is necessary to remove the other bits thus creating extra work.

What am I missing here?

Regards
