Hello guys,

I'm a new member to TOC and have some questions about exhaust systems for a Toyota Celica SX 2003.

I've been trying to read up about brands of exhausts and I have had not much luck.

So here I am; What brand gives the most horsepower?

What brand gives the most sound?

Is there an exhaust system that is dual pipe?

Please reply with some sort of proof or evidence to back this up.

My main concern is the performance of the exhaust. Sound is secondary.

I will be starting from the engine all the way to the back. Full exhaust system.

Please leave your knowledge here. All information helps.

Thanks, AuSaundo

Ported stock manifold.

Custom 2.5" mandrel bent pipe, mild steel is fine to save money. But don't bother with press bent pipe.

As for the muffler, discuss it with the exhaust shop.

Is there room underneath the Celica to run dual tail pipes, one on each side of the car?

Please reply, Thanks AuSaundo

Only if you have two pipes out of the muffler. If you run dual pipes from the manifold back, you will have to go down to a smaller pipe, 1.75" to be exact. The cross sectional area of a 2.5" (63.5mm) pipe is 3167mm^2, and the cross sectional area of 1.75" (44.5mm) pipe is 1550mm^2, and because there is two it will result in a total of 3103mm^2. This is all to do with backflow, not enough and you will lose power, too much and you will lose power. 2.5" is the ideal size NA for the exhaust from many users.

Thank you,

Is there room underneath the Celica to run Dual Cannisters one on either side of the rear bumper without having a muffler?

Please reply, AuSaundo
