What are the 3 plugs in the back of the stereo zre-152R

hey all

my second thread but hopefully this will by my 1 and only dumb question

what are the 3 plugs in the back of the stereo... the model is PZQ60-12010 on top of the stereo; the car itself is a ZRE-152R

Now.. i know that 1 is the speaker cluster, the one next to it is the power cluster... but there is a 3rd one with a red and white and a black cable in it... is this cable okay to be unplugged and left that way (as im installing a new stereo and obviously this stereo does not have the 3rd set of plugs).. i am handy with wiring but as this is the missus new car i don't wanna go stranding it lol

my guess could be its the security wire for the stereo or is it an alarm that will go off when i unplug it?? but again im not sure ive tried calling toyota and asking for wiring diagrams but they wont help me with those (they say they dont have them but how can they fix the car if there is a problem eh... lol)

any help would be appreciated

cheers

Josh

thats not a dumb question mate, i'd like to know what it is as well. :lol:

I've had mine unplugged for over a year and havent had a problem with that.

so it would be safe to say unplug it then? lol its on the righter most side... there is an empty plug altogether, then the power cables, then the speaker cables

ie if your looking at the stereo from the car side not when the radio is out facing you

Speakers -> Power -> Empty -> red/white/black wires

edit... i just unplugged and all is sweet it must be the steering controls as stated...

what is the wiring diagram for this radio now though

do you know pezz?

That file should show you the current wiring.

The only issue i've had is with the illumination wire. It screwed up my parker lights and fuse for some time, so i unwired it and everything has been fine since then.

It would make sense that those wires are for steering wheel controls, it is quite possible that it is prewired for them.
