Need Help! Nudge Bar Repairers Perth?

Hi Everyone,

Yesterday we had a mishap, being distracted by the kids and pulling into our carport, I accidently went a bit too far and gently bumped the brick wall.

As a result our brand new Kluger's nudge bar has some small scraps on it.

I spoke to our dealership thinking they could buff it off for us, but can't and only suggetsed to go to a panel beaters.

Now i have contacted a few and because this is a genuine toyota nudgebar which is full Alloy, they don't seem to want to touch it, only prepared to replace it.

I'm in perth, Forrestfield.

Does anyone know of panel beaters/ nudgebar repair shop's etc that work on repairs? It's very small and not a huge job but need to find a repairer to sort it out

Any help from member's knowledge would be great!!

Thanks

Hi sam

Sorry I couldnt help mate, the place thats going to fix your nudge bar, do they specialise in fixing bullbars and

nudgebars, or a car detailer, panel beater, im also interested how their going to repair your nudgebar.

I would like to know how you get on, a similar thing happened to me years a go when I bought my new hilux, I was reversing out of my driveway and I thought I had it in reverse but had it in first gear instead and put my nice shiny alloy bullbar through a chain mesh fence, and it put some bad scrapes and scratches on it..

So any information on your repairs for future references would be greatly appreciated.

Gday David,

Yes this place is a sell's and repairs bullbars (in perth)

The scratch's on mine aren't massive, and they have estimated by the photo i emailed them it will take about 1 hour to repair. Cost is $100 per hour to re-sand back and re-polish the toyota alloy/chrome nudgebar.

I take it in tomorrow and will see how it goes!

It was a mission to start with as no panel beater wants to know about it unless it's a spray job, or total replacement(insurance) - period.

Cheers

sam :)

Thanks sam.

Thats great news , I will be interested to see how it looks after there finished, and how it works out for you.

When they sand it back , I wonder they have to be carefull they dont sand through the crome, or is very thick coat and it would be hard to go through, and to bring back the shine is to polish it hard.

Sorry mate these probaly sound like stupid questons, im just curious.

Any way mate I hope it works out for you.

Its nothing worse than getting your new car damaged.

cheers david.

Hi David,

No worries! I had the exact same questions..

I took it to the bullbar retailer/repairs on tuesday.

took about 1 hour, $60 and looks all shiny and untouched/new again & couldn't be happier.

I think they sanded it back, then buffed the bar out with some polish.

It's solid Alloy with chrome look finish, so unless the damage was major - it's a pretty easy fix (sand back and buff/polish job)
