Hit the back of the Kluger on brick wall

Ok well.. I was parking backwards into my garage and then here a loud BANG! The right tail light had smashed! I continued to park my car. After I look at the rear of my Kluger. The right tail light was smashed, all the glass fell of it but the actual light is okay.. I think.. But also the huge bumper right under the tail light got a few deep scratches. This is my dad's car by the way! I don't want him to know about it. Does anyone know how much would it could to repaid the tail light as well as the bumper at a Toyota authorized dealer! I'm extremely worried. It is a Toyota Kluger 2013 Grande purchased from Sydney City Toyota. I remember my dad purchased all these extra warranty, don't know if that will help. But I might pop in to my local Toyota dealer which is just up the road. But anyway, does anyone have any idea how much it would cost to get the car as it was before again (no scratches and perfect condition)? Please help me out my fellow Toyota friends!

1. Call up the dealer and find out.

2. Call up insurance.

3. Cry

Rather than hide things from your parents, tell them. Let this be a lesson for you & learn from your mistake.

Warranty or even extra warranty will not cover a broken tail light (self error).Im just curious , if you were backing in backwards , you didnt use the reverse camera screen to help?

We all make mistakes , and have to learn from them .I say let your dad know what you did as hiding it from him and trying to get it repaired over a long weekend public holiday is pretty much impossible.Remember when your dad was young he too would of made mistakes and had to deal with them , no one is perfect we are all only human.

Good luck and try not to stress :)

Best to get tell your Dad unless you can wait till at least Tuesday to get a new taillight which will be a few hundred and may even require a day to order in. That is provided you can buff out the damage in the bumper. If not, you will have to add some more hundreds to that and some more days.

Yeah I'm waiting till Tuesday then I'm gonna call up for a quote. Don't know if I should tell him :/ but anyway money is not a problem and I'll be happy to pay whatever price they quote. Just worried if they can fix the deep scratches on the huge bumper right under the tail light. Can they remove the scratch? Or will they have to replace the whole part? Does anyone have any idea of the price and timeframe?

There's always the mobile touchup route for the bumper if it's just a scratch.

For the taillight, try the dealer (Be prepared to pay loads for a brand new genuine one though.) or the wreckers yard if you don't mind getting secondhand. Otherwise, try eBay.

Alright well I checked out the scratch today and it's just normal scratches, it's not as deep as I thought. But they are pretty long. There are scratches on the bumper right under the right tail light and also the bumper under that (the matte one). I called Sydney City Toyota Glebe today which is where I purchased the car from. I talked to the person that had helped my purchase the car, he gave me an address to "ER McNamara Smash Repairs". I searched it up and apparently they are recommend by a lot of car manufacturers! I'm planning to go tomorrow. Does anyone have any experience with this smash repair? Do they use genuine parts? Also, why would Toyota recommend me there where I can just pop into one of their service and repair centers? Should I go to the smash repair or an official Toyota service center? And thanks a lot guys for the helpful responses!

Some dealers don't have a body & paint facility, so they contract it to a bodyshop outside. If the workmanship is good, I'd give them a try.

Otherwise, you can find an authorized Toyota body & paint repairer in the link below (There may or may not be one nearby,).
