hello i have recently bought a 1963 toyota toyoace in the swanhill region. i have been searching all over the internet for info on this little truck but have found it must be pretty rare, i ened up paying $2000 for it, mechanicly it is pretty good, it had not started in 2 years but a drop of fuel in the carby changed that pretty quick. all the electronics work on it and are all fully original apart from new head lights, one small rip in the drivers seat and did not come with a tray. the drivers side window was made of perspecs but was dead flat so i simply got one made up, the cab has been gutted and sand blasted and is now in a pannel shop being worked on. the bottom half is having small touch ups like a carby rebuild spark plugs and possibly gaskets and all the other bits and pieces. looking at just over 3 months before i throw it in a show and shine

Does anyone know where the chassis vin number might be on the 1963 toyoace truck also I am chasing seats for the same ,very simple small low and flat, any suggestions welcome.the rust repairs are underway ,but I do realize as a welder I make a good carpenter, although I am enjoying the challenge as this is my first vehicle project.the truck has a 5 speed manual gearbox with a killer clutch plus little leg room so am thinking of a tri matic auto box on the Holden 186 motor it has already.hubs are of and brake rebuild is underway.playing with grills at the moment a Morris Oxford grill looks great and a mate has a 47 studebaker grill I will try maybee a range of clip on grills so each time I go out it looks a little different.if anyone has ideas to help I can be contacted on 0400728448 or post a reply ,I need support to keep on the right track a it is all knew to me including forums thanks Brian
