occaisonal *clunk* when starting

Hi all,

just thought I'd share this one see if anyone else has experienced it:

every now and then when i turn my car on with a/c running - I get a really loud clunk sounds like it's coming from driver side of the car - havent been able to fully diagnose because it only happens randomly - and I'm usually in the drivers seat...

Any thoughts or anything I should check?

When I saw the thread title I was going to suggest air conditioning.

Mine does the same thing and so did my old car. My guess is that it's the a/c compressor starting up or something but i've always thought it was normal

I'd say it's the Aircon Compressor switching on

I figured that's what it would be - just the clunk is quite loud sometimes...

I'll work on the theory that it's normal until something breaks :)

Ditto :D Just the compressor engaging when you start your car with the air con already switched on. :D
