Hello to All,

I have a 2009 Toyota Aurion Prodigy (70,000 km) which has recently begun to suffer from intermittent cooling with climate control set to Cooling (Driver and Passenger thermostats both set 23 deg C). In ambient temperatures of approx. 35 deg C, cabin cooling airflow starts out fine. After about 30 minutes highway motoring, inflow air temperature suddenly jumps to the outside air temperature. This warm air inflow will continue for about 10 - 15 minutes, and then the cooling air inflow returns.

I would be grateful for any advices of the most probable causes and their rectification. The HVAC system is as originally manufactured and has never been touched.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Your system may have a blockage or be freezing up. I would suggest having the system tested.

There is a temp sensor on the condenser inside your dash where the A/C pipes connects to, if that sensor is faulty, the A/C clutch will not disengage, therefore the in-cabin condenser will freeze and air will not be cooled till the ice melts.
