I have a VX 2008 landcruiser. I would like to change the steering wheel over from original steering wheel to a later one with buttons so i can use it on a 2012 sat nav stereo.

Would the wiring support this. Is it a case of purchasing the wheel and wiring and plugging both in?

I have seen how to replace the old satnav with a new up to date one in a sahara (as this had all the buttons i would like) and it wasn't too hard as long as the steering wheel had all the wiring it all just plugged in.

Not much of a community out there. Expected at least a point of view from someone i 2 months.

In answer to my own question and in the interest of the landcruuser community it can be done. Not with a totally new steering wheel but purchasing new parts with buttons that fit on the grey plastic parts that are either side of the horn/airbag in the centre of the steering wheel. Side comment-toyota horns on the landcruiser are crap, the beeeep doesn't fit in with the look of the car at all, I'm almost embarred to use it on the rare occasions i have had to. Beeeep lol

Back the the ateering wheel ---------------Cost approx $500 to buy and install by a auto electrician.

Any thoughts if this is expensive? Come on community who has a constructive response?
