We have an original 1985 hiace trakka campervan conversion and need a mechanic in inner west Sydney who can look after her _properly_. Major service, brakes etc. Last two mechanics we tried were appalling; last one even forgot to fill the coolant and the oil up after a major service! Willing to pay more as long as the work is done properly. Anyone know a good mechanic? Please? Martijn Erskineville.

Hi Martijn

I am in the same boat. I have a 67 Light bus. Super cool and rare and I am looking for a mechanic also. I just joined this club today and it seems a few people are tired of lazy mechanics. Let me know if you find someone and I will share my research with you also.

Cheers Emal

Hi Emal,

Seems this forum is not used much anymore. I have not seen any posts or replies...

Anyway, after being recommended here, we now go to Ashbury Service Centre Address: 22 Charles St, Canterbury NSW 2193 Phone: (02) 9716 6415

They are awesome and honest mechanics and have done a great job on all works so far. Not Toyota specialists, but i'd say give them a try.

Hi Martijn- did you end up finding a good mechanic for your hiace? I have a similar van, and am looking for a good local mechanic (I’m based in Newtown).

cheers

Hello Martjin, I also have the same 1985 van. Just purchased it. Would love to hear from you as to what I should expect to break and best mechanic
