Hi all,

I have a 2013 Corolla Ascent Sport, and the central locking has failed in the driver's door (needs key unlock).  Apparently the part is stupidly expensive from Toyota, so my best bet will probably be to source a 2nd hand part and get my mechanic to install it at the next service (I know I could do it.....but having never fully removed door trim before I'd probably take way too long to do it).

The mechanic made a suggestion - he asked about warranty.  My car is 2nd hand, and out of 2nd hand warranty - but the mechanic thought that when new it might have been under the 7 year warranty - and might still be under that despite changing hands, and believed the failure was a warranty issue.  Anybody have any thoughts or comments around that?
