Hey Guys hope everyone is well,

I was just wanting some input/help with my c60 transmission in my celica. It has started to grind in 3rd and 4th gear mostly when downshifting and after the car has been warmed up. I've noticed once the transmission is cold it doesn't tend to grind as much rather it just isn't happy to go into gear.

I'm assuming it's most likely my synchros at this stage and I changed my transmission fluid not that long ago with Redline MT-90 so I don't think it's a fluid based issue.

In terms of fixing the transmission am I better or getting the transmission rebuilt or replacing it with a new one. And in terms of rebuilding can anyone recommend any good places preferably in Perth if you know of any.

Thanks guys!! :)

Rebuild it - new synchros, bearings, oil seals etc.  Any fluid solution will be only temporary and just masks the problem.

No real way of getting a "new" one, and almost guaranteed that any second-hand one you find will either have the same problem or will start displaying symptoms very quickly (it's a known weakness of the C-series boxes).
