RAV4 19" wheels on Aurion

Have purchased a set of RAV4 Edge 19x7.5" replicas in 40mm offset from eBay

Should fit very nicely on my 2011 Aurion using the factory shank style lugs, will update this thread as things happen.

Not liking the gloss black finish, so first up will be giving it a light sand then change the finish to satin black to bring out some details in the rims

Wheels arrived today & I had time to sand one of them with a SIA green superfine pad (500-600g)

 

Much better already 👍 

Regarding tyres, I've purchased a set of Nexen N'fera Su1 in 235/40r19 for $220 fitted which is pretty good for a mid range tyre

Alot of plant debri flying around today. Whipped up a spray booth. Not ideal, but it's what I've got to work with. Let the painting begin 👍

Layed down 4 coats of satin black, & 3 coats satin clear. Am quite happy with the finish, and a noticeable difference in comparison to the original black gloss. Can't wait to get 'em on the car 👍

Car drives nice with no scrubbing on low springs 👍 the nexen's on these 19's ride smoother than the chinese rubbish I had on the 18" rims that were removed from the car. Goes to show how much tyres can affect the ride quality. Only downside is the new wheels/tyre combo is nearly 3kg heavier per corner.

I'd like to think every car enthusiast on a budget is a ninja with aerosol cans 😂

I did these chr rims with septone gloss clear over gloss black, a bit over 3 years ago & has held up pretty good.
