Hi,

I have a 1kd d4d 3.0 That's playing up.

Turbo was changed 6 months ago, all seemed ok.

Few weeks ago it started lagging and pulsing at low revs before the turbo kicked in but seemed ok on boost

Next day was worse so put it on a computer and threw a code for air flow sensor so I changed that and that code went away

Worked better but still not right.

On idle it's ok but when you put into drive and foot on break the actuator pulses and when you take off its really pulsy not smooth until turbo hits

It's different at different Temps, not as bad on a cold start, if I start it warm it's worse. Once I pump the gas and finally get it to boost it comes better.

Put on another computer today and po108 came up.

The mechanic said hard to tell if it's the map sensor or the turbo boost control module.

Now he said when they replace bad turbos they normally replace the control module as sometimes the bad turbo can cause a fault in the module.

He also said when it's original turbo and all seems good he normally leans towards the map sensor.

I live on a small island I'm south pacific and limited parts available so  trying to get to the bottom of this.

Any advice or ways to test and see if it's the map sensor or the control module?

Thanks all 🤙 🏝
