[QLD] Sprints

I was planning on going to a Wednesday sprint on the 12th of July at QLD Raceway and thought I would ask if anyone else would be interested. I know all you busy people have work on wednesdays, but I have work on saturdays :P

According to the Queensland Raceway site it starts at 2pm and they run on a different layout to that of the V8 Familycars, it is a slightly more interesting layout and not as fast. All the info needed on the sprints is on there site under Calender->Sprints.

I have never been before so anyone who has and can give me some advice it would be welcomed.

the more "exciting" layout is as soon as you get on the back straight you go down the turn on your right and straight away turn back to the left. Alot slower but not any more exciting

Date - 1st july 2006

Time - 11am ish

Location - Qld Raceway

Contact- fearlesss 0422 096 182 (that's the dude organising it, not me)

Cost -

1) $75 for the day, pre-booked otherwise $95

2) $55 for an annual licence or $20 for a single day licence

3) Sizzler - its like 17 bucks for the salad bar ?

What do you get? 3x5 sprint sessions on the track.

And if there is time left over, then you can have another run

At least the sprint track is more interesting then: straight-turn right-repeat :P

Don't know if anyone else has been out before but I got these times;

Sprint; 1:08.5300

Clubman; 1:11.2500

I tell you them XR5T are bloody fast :o basically subtract 2 seconds from all those times. Damn their stability control.

You guys missed out on some fun

66 secs for an xr5t around the sprint track isnt really that quick, considering the features it has

theres a certain honda NA with simple bolt on mods that runs 59.3 around the sprint circuit (holds the current record i believe)....now thats hektic !

Was the Porsche a silvery colour? If so then Northy and I have seen this car in action and it's awesome!!!

I think it had a GTR 600 sticker down the side. So according to the Gembala site it has 750hp

Plus the XR5T was going easy, after all he only had it for a month or so.
