whats the diff between a anti roll bar and sway bar

gday guys,

can anyone tell me the diff between a anti roll bar and a sway bar?? should i install a anti roll bar at front to improve handling and steering on highways and freeways or a front sway bar??

sounds like the same thing right? who said that? could it be a region language difference? i know we generally say sway bars but in other places they call them stabiliser bars.

Cool so that means they are the same thing then right?

Also not to hijack this thread but whilst talking about sway bars (or what ever they are called).

What is the pros and cons for getting a front sway bar?

What is the pros and cons for getting a rear sway bar?

I’m guessing front is more important? (if so why so, if not why not?)

Anti-roll bar is the proper name for a sway bar.

If you want to move towards understeer fit a smaller rear anti-roll bar or a larger front anti-roll bar.

If you want to move towards oversteer fit a larger rear anti-roll bar or a smaller front anti-roll bar.

I measured an early zze122 corolla and 04 and 05 Sportivos and got these sizes. Would someone be able to double check?

Corolla; F=22mm R=21mm

Sportivo; F=22mm R=19mm

Edit: I have just done my rear anti-roll bar upgrade for free :D
