heys

ive got this idea ..that i wanna do to my car... n the idea is dis...

IDEA

My idea is to have a slim line ps2 hidden in my glove box .. with a wireless adapter for its controllers ... and at the same time... have a 9" portable dvd screen hanging from my rear view mirror... whilst car not on..

now some issues im concerned about ....

1) now ... is there a way to connect the portable monitor to the speakers in the car.. ?

2) can the monitor and the ps2 b connected through the car so that when the car starts up it will have instant power?

3) can the ps2 and monitor b simplified by just connecting through the ciggy lighter... ?

thanks a million

Yeah for sure mate i have 1 indash monitor and 1 roof mount in my car, you can run the monitors and PS2 off the inverter which i have mounted under the dash of the passengers side and i have "Hard-wired" the system to the battery this way u can have it running without having the car on! :)

hey there thanks for reps ...

when u mean hard wire u mean using a cable to go directly to the battery and also at the end of the wire u connect the inverter to that wire ... is dat what u mean ?

buh is there a way u can like connect the portable screen to the battery as well ? or does it have to go cig lighter... coz i wish it was thru the batt..

thanks

1. Yes

:D :D :D

Anything can be directly connected to the battery providing the component runs off 12volt I guess or else you'd need an inverter as RunX mentioned already.

Hmmm just wondering why you'd want to hang a 9" off your rear view mirror? Where would you store it safely afterwards? If 8" is big enough for you, Clarion have an 8" motorized monitor single din unit. Biggest single din screen out there I believe. Bit pricey though.

Oh well, here's a pic of mine. I use the cigarette lighter adaptor to power up the ps2. Don't wanna hardwire it as it's barely used. The adaptor plug sits on the side of the centre console underneath so its away from view when not in use. Oh and the PS2 sits in the glovebox. Will deffinately come up with some fibreglass solution to hold it steady and look pretty ;)
