if she squels, squirms under braking or fades... then pretty soon :D

If she tugs or vibrates....ASAP!

Normally, depending on make origin of corolla - see ur engine plate -

most jap models don't need brake changes until maybe 70000 +

SA models -... are significantly less 40 - 50 000km -- but mind u, it depends on ur style of driving as well :D

hope if helps

I think the sedans are all japan ones.

Anyways, ive got conquest sedan, I changed the front brake pads at about 55000.

The rear pads are still going strong.

I ended up changing the pads to EBC Green stuff, they stop quite well, but they are heaps dusty.

Brakes really aren't a distance thing. My Sporti had 70k on it with about half the pad left. When your car is being serviced they should be looking at the pads. But if you dont trust them the easiest way is to look into the caliper at the pad and if there looks to be more than 5ish mm of material (not backing plate) then I wouldn't be too worried. Also auto's go through pads quicker. Obviously a better way to check is to remove the pads and measure them, if they are 1mm or less they need to be replaced.
