The mplkate says LH71B wqith 2L 2446cc

I believe the LH is diesel but the vehicle has a 2l petrol engine installed. Eng # 3V0560558

The Frame number is LH71B-0003211

Can anyone tell me where the engine number is located on the engine?

I also need a recon gearbox as this one grinds away in 1st,2nd,3rd and 5th and is a column change manual.

I am in Gympie, Qld and need to locate a box.Thanks

You just brought back some memories for me, I used to drive a Lite Ace, that 1.8 Litre 2Y motor was strong as an ox :)

I always thought the HiAce was a 2.2 litre??

hehehe the HiAce motors went from 1.8L to the new 2.8L

1983-1989 had 2L 1989-1995 were 2.2L as far as I can find out.

I thought someone might be able to tell from the engine number which engine is fitted.

I cannot get any response from Toyota!
