Corolla VS Truck

Hi Guys

I saw a Corolla vs Truck accident in George St Brisbane this morning. The Corolla took a heavy hit on the RH side. It looks like he got pushed thru the Turbot / Gorege St intersection. It looked like a Silver 2003ish Levin.

10 weeks is nothing, try 2 year old groceries in the boot including eggs :P I'm just glad none of them broke in the meantime otherwise I would've never gotten rid of the smell.

Back on topic & without seeing pics I find it unusual that 2 people were killed, in most Corolla accidents i've seen the passenger cell remains pretty intact. I recall seeing a similar accident to the original post a couple of months ago and I was surprised that both driver and passenger walked away...

Hahahaha it was 10-weeks minimum, but nowhere near 2 years! That would be nuts! Ours still had 2L of milk and some nice big steaks... accompanied by some nice big maggots... thousands. Luckily this car was only for parts so we didn't have to worry about the smell.

And I agree about the passenger cell, I think Toyota call it Safe-T-Cell but what it adds up to is just a whole bunch of steel reinforcement in the A-pillars and everywhere else they could cram it. We've seen Corolla's that required the "jaws of life" and with a cross sectional view you can see there is a hell of a lot of metal in those pillars - would have been a long rescue! I guess the underlying point is that we have hatchbacks that feature plenty of airbags and structural integrity for the price but you can still be up the sh!t depending on how bad a hit you take (angle, mass/shape of the other vehicle, speed etc).
