  1. Hi,

Would changing the header alone on the 1ZZFE get much power/response gain?

If so, does anyone here have any recommendation as to where I can get one in Sydney?

The stock pipes from the header all the way to the cat seem pretty big.

    Cheers,

Genie Headers make one for the 1ZZ, its around $300 installed. Check there web site for more information.

Sorry but what is the website to check it out? Im interested too, and only $300? Thats Aussie bucks right? I was under the strange impression they were more in the price of $1000

  2. Another bit of advice is DONT lowered your car with tight suspension or get a Subwoofer as the result is RATTLES!!!! i have a few due to the above   oh well, just have to keep the sub pumpin and all is well

I always assumed that ratteling was my undercar neons

I know you guys have had the ratteling issue since these forums started... but is it truelly that bad? It couldnt actually just be a characteristic noise?

Does it go higher than 90db? You can get defected for the ratteling then

But yeah, im just curious, what loudness are your rattles? I shall be looking to get a sportivo when ive finished modifying my acsent enough thats all. Do you have to crank the stereo heaps to hear over the rattles?

  3. URGENT ATTENTION - PLEASE READ

    Hey Guys,

I just had a call from Brennden. He has just got a call from Trevor, who is a little frustrated as he has received 4 calls today about this system. The questions range from diameter of pipe to the construction of the system.

PLEASE NOTE: Trevor is EXTREMELY busy. If you have any queries please call Brennden on 0412 559 592.

Trevor is getting a little annoyed at having to drop everything to answer questions that could very easily be answered by Brennden, he has also mentioned that the more time he spends answering questions, the less time he spends making systems (and thats not good for any of us).

This is by no means a "*****", simply passing on the message, as Im sure Brennden can answer any queries you may have, if not, leave it with him, and he can approach Trevor with 20 questions, rather than have each person call CES individually.

Your assistance is appreciated, cheers in advance

    JC

PS. Shooting of the messenger will not be tolerated  ;)

    Not shooting the messenger here..

But am I not right in thinking that businesses dont dictate terms to the customer? Who is he to complain about people calling to make enquirys?

If he is too busy to answer questions about an exhaust made for corollas perhaps he should have thought twice about making the exhaust in the first place.

  4. alright what is the fastest then for 1zzfe? my friend has done 180 but could not go more and it was auto.

I would suggest that your friend go see toyota and complain.

I have an auto 1zzfe and ive got it up to 220 before, then again overdrive has to be off and if you mess around with the gear ratios a little bit you can make it get past 180 easily

  5. it's already highly strung from the factory...so....yeah...to get more...cost HEAPS more too.

Thats a bit wrong, the mods don't cost anymore wether your modifying a tivo or rolla.

CAI is still the same price.

Exhaust is still the same price.

Flywheel is still the same price.

Suspension and Wheels are still the same price.

Swaybars are still the same price.

Headers and extractors would still be the same price (4cyl extractors)

Supercharger is still the same... oh wait... you guys cant get a supercharger. :D :P :D

Just making a point that mods are expensive no matter what car you have, as long as your not cutting shortcuts and modify properly it will cost the same normally.

  6. Theres plenty able to be done to a 1zz rolla hatch. I have one myself but am more on the visual side of things rather than performance.

Grimlock on these forums dropped a TRD supercharger into his rolla, sounds like he got great performance from it.

I have a custom Cold air intake and remus exhaust, 1zzfe also has a remus exhaust (sorry thats not your name bud, cant remember :()

I would say its worth it, personal preferance. Sportivos have their problems occasionally, but are fantastic sleepers... however.. a rolla with an ascent (or whatever you have) badge on the back that runs like *** knows what is even better for a sleeper.

I personally would go for getting the most you can out of the 1zz, its a great car to drive and is very stable.

A few of us guys have modified our 1zz's so if you have any questions or anything like that just post in the corolla forum and no doubt at least a couple of us can answer you! :)

  7. I have a 'green' filter, prefer it over all the rest simply because it stays cleaner and lasts a bit longer than the rest.

My Cold Air Induction is a little different from the rest of you guys though to say the least. I have a pipe going from the airbox down through to the gap below the grille. I get optimum suckage from there, makes sence to me. *** my car sounds so much better and performs so much better having the filter there.

  8. Hey guys, hopefully some of you remember me, im from Perth and have a 1zzfe Rolla Ascent 2003 model.

Anyways, im sorta stumped on what my next mod should be and was wondering if you folks had any ideas?

    Current mod list is:

Complete Audio System (headunit, Splits, 2-ways, amps, and subs)

    Low King springs

    17' CSA chrome wheels

    Grey full sportivo kit

    Remus exhaust

    Undercar neons

Custom Cold Air Induction kit (Green)

Lets hear your ideas fellas! :)

  9. and we shouldnt be arguing over who is the all time best because we all are.

being we all own a stivo.

.... and on comes the arguement between stivo and 1zzfe owners.:lol::lol:

Way to cause more havoc eddy  (jk)

Wish I live somewhere near you guys... could always do the long drive from Perth to melbourne/sydney sometime I suppose. :D

  10. Grimlock has the best rolla around these forums in my opinion. Only because hes the first I know of to supercharge his beasty 1zzfe. (On the forums that is)

I'm not too fussed about performance or looks or whatever. It all matters how much you love and respect your car. Grimlocks car may not beat a stivo, but it would be crazy to drive.

I've been tossing up between getting a supercharger or retrim/tints/CAI

  11. Its great to see the 1zz's finally rising!

I bet the exhaust does sound great, id be interested in the headers too now to go along with my remus exhaust (same as IZZ-FE)

Sometime next year il be getting my hands on a supercharger, just gotta find somewhere good to buy it and somewhere good to insure me!

  12. i thought so but i may have got a new guy at the dealer when i asked for it cos he said they dont have them...

    Thanks for the help anyway

I was told the same thing around all of the metro Western Australian dealers, its a pin in the *****.

If push comes to shove then take it to a car stereo place and have them make something up for you, cost me $30 to have side brackets made up and fitted.

  13. 1) I have the plug socket thing that doesnt have a cover on as well... no idea what its for and I assume it isnt meant to be covered.

    2) Yes, its a coin holder, try placing coins in there... it really works

    3) There are many grill variations out there... they can be imported for singapore which has heaps of styles. Personally I am a fan of the official sportivo one mind... even though its really overpriced.

    4) It depends what type of accessories your after... performance mods, exterior mods or what? The other guys around here should be able to help you with that one.

I have an 03 ascent, from what ive heard the TTR is pretty much the same as the ascent of levin.... I cant remember if the TTR has the sportivo bodykit on it though.

If you wanna check my car out go to www.cardomain.com/id/robsrolla :D

  14. Ive just seen in a car mag that penrith toyota are selling official TRD superchargers for $5600 for the 1zz engine.... wonder if they are just imported from America and still need adjusting or if they are fully ready to be put on an Aussie Rolla. :D

  15. Low King Springs $440 (normal price)

Thats the exact same as I have and exact same as I paid...

I bought mine from one of the best suspension places in Perth... not the best but certainly a reliable place that really made the handeling improve unbelievably (I have an ascent... not sportivo)

    Skitzo,

what is the name of the suspension place you used in perth? do they do eibach suspension kit too? :D

WA suspension or Wilkinson Suspension is the best to use in WA by far. They do great deals and do the job properly!!!

If you use either of these companies expect to be given good service!

  16. some pics of how a sportivo looks like lowered with Low Kings & 17's.

    xTiGeRx1

    xTiGeRx 2

    xTiGeRx Rear Right Wheel

    xTiGeRx Front Right Wheel

    xTiGeRx Left Side

    Hope it helps.

Do you have any problems with speed bumps or cornering? Rubbing guards?

Are you happy with the ride after being lowered etc etc?

My rolla looks exactly like Tigers (ride height wise with and 17' wheel), im very happy withthe result. I shall post some photos later.

The handeling improves a lot, the ride feels much stiffer at first but loosens up after a while.

The only problem I have is because my remus exhaust is a bit lower than my sportivo sideskirts, it is really easy to hit the exhaust on almost any speed bumps.

I have to crab crawl over most ramps that look a little bit high so I dont damage my sideskirts, neons or exhaust.

Also if you have it lowered then be aware of parking head on facing a curb.... would be very easy to just plough into it... cant say I have done it yet.

I ran over a curb at night time when I didnt see it and broke a side neon on my car. Just proves that one little mistake and you can do some damage easily.

But overall im incredibly happy with the lowering. Looks fantastic.

  17. Wow you live pretty close to me, I live in Leeming.

Have you got a white stivo an exhaust mod and new rims? Or is that another sportivo I keep seeing around....

I'll be starting a rolla club up in perth soon.... so many rollas around we all have to meet together.
