  1. Before you play with the adjustment I would do what VVTLi suggested, swap the bulbs around.

After doing the above I suggest parking your car in front of your garage door. Turn on your lights and look for the top line of your headlights against the garage door. Get some tape out and mark that point. Keep turning the adjustment. If it goes up or doesnt move, try turning the adjustment in the other direction. You should evenually to a low enough point that is reasonable. Then go park say a car length behind another car and adjust your lights till you cant see in their rear window. Go back and park against your garage then try and even up both lights. Then test on the another cars rear window. If you cant see in its all good. If you do then re-adjust your lights.

    Hope that helps.

i parked mine about 3 car lengths behind another car and did that.

My driver side light is lower than the passenger side light tho so I dont blind on coming traffic.

Now you can go for a stroll in the park and push your kids in the corolla *cough* pram *cough*:P

    Looks good none the less

  6. You better be able to beat a trumped up taxi or you will give the Stivo a bad name.

A guy has an XR6 here at work and YUCK just a falcon really bad interior trim etc etc . I like my bro in laws SV6 Commodore much better.

    Guys,

XR6 Turbo would beat the stivo stock vs stock.

In terms of $$ value of mods $5k of mods on a XR6t vs 5k on a stivo .. the XR6T would BLITZ the stivo.

Some CHEAP mods available to easily obtain 290-300kw at the wheels.

Also the 6 speed AUTO is faster than the manual transmission in the ford.

  7. Blue rolla.

    Dropped on chrome 17s.

Slimline weather sheilds front and back!

What looked like a custom rear bar, side skirts, didnt see the front

    Clear lights

Parked at 7 eleven north rocks. Any body seen this car.

When i see blue i mean the colour like the forum tool bar

    Bluey/silver..

Anyway any one seen this car before>

Spotted yesterday (Saturday) on Lane Cove Road heading West - Silver Stivo with male driver and dumped on stock rims. pre face lift model at 11:45am

Spotted Friday: Silver stivo parked on Kent st (i think) near the PWC building near the turn on to the harbour bridge lowered on chrome rims.

  8. abit off topic, but does anyone know the part numbers for all these extra parts needed to fit the rear swaybar?

what u mean extra parts? i thought it comes with everything except the tools to tighten it up

  9. Im interested in purchasing a new HID kit. I was just wondering if any1 with a facelift corolla has a 4300K-4500K HID kit on thier car, and if they found that they were suitable. I've had previous experience with a 6000K HID kit, but found it too bright.

    4300-4500K HID?

    why not go 4300-4500K globes

    same brightness

    less cash

    same colour temperature.

different brightness or rather lumens. halogens will never be same as Xenons, sorry.

    Agreed - HID alot brighter

if ur concerned about brightness get the bulbs then .. wont have the same look tho

  10. Nice hardware Bill, hmmm from my wild guess, i rekon hes doing internal, and TURBO. Thats the only way to get more speed out of the car from its current situation is a turbo. So bill a T28 garrette ball bearing turbo?? :P

Or did u get ur hands on Takumi's engine???jks

    Interesting..... ;)

Bill - uve donated ur engine and installing a Prius engine right? u turned enviro and the fuel prices hurting too much.

    :P

  11. great news bill!!!

thanks for all wat ur doing for us !!

Thanks to Bruce as well for pushing things on the NZ side of things as well

Yer thanks guys for all the effort and time put into tracking it down

No thanks to NZPost or AUPost for being incompetent

  12. Hi Fad,

Thanks for your reply. I guess I should have stated that I have a stock Sportivo, so its not possible to run a 3.5mm headphone jack cable to an input on the stereo. It has to be a RF transmitter. In the long run, yes I will look at buying a new head unit, but thats just not possible at this point in time.

    snakes

    Belkin make a popular one

  13. Collingwood huh? I hear that you can't walk down any given road in collingwood without being mugged hahahaha.

guys in addition I think that your insurance is for the replacement of CAR value only and not mods.

So if your car is a write off you'll get a new rolla - stock. they wont replace installation of the mods except stereo i think

    Anyone clarify?

  14. Hi guys,

Posting this thread here because its non toyota related.

The headunit in my Merc C-200k just stopped working yesterday.

I drove around with radio on, parked and turned car off as normal

Come back and the lights light up but no noise out of my speakers ..

alot of the functions were not working either i.e. I could not change to AM and I could not insert a CD.

Anyone experienced anything like this before? My car lights and engine etc all work still

  15. Guys,

Interested in buying a new digital camera this month and I know a few of you are digi camera nerds:P

So need some advice on my next purchase.

Been looking at Canon Ixus 55 - seen for $385

Anyone know much about it and can lend their opinion?

And what other cameras in the slim point and shoot category are worth taking a look at in the same price range? ($450 max)

    Cheers

well have you decided yet ???

Yup gonna get the canon Ixus 55 coz its best value for money for my needs.

panasonic FX01 takes bad indoors and night shots

pentax a10 was worth a look but didnt get great reviews in its focus department

ixus 65 is nice but basically smae thing with half inch bigger LCD and 6mp instead of 5mp.

fuji V10 was good but heard it breaks easy

  16. Eggbert_99's Canon is very nice, it can do Panoramic....nice camera indeed :)

But if you also do a lot of night & indoor shoots, Panasonic is good too because it has the Anti-shake Fuction, which reduce the chance of blur photos becos of longer exposure time.

Yah, as Eggbert said, you also have to prepair the money for a good size memory card, at least 512mb or 1G...nowdays the camera is at least 5 mega pixel, you can hardly fit any in the original card...so a memory card is somehting you have to buy as well. + you may want a pouch to protect the camera, a good one would cost $20-$30....

Already got a 1gig SD card from my last camera which died :)

so no extras ..maybe a pouch but thats peanuts

  17. ive had good experience with sony cameras so far (im on my 2nd), except my battery is dead or something... it just wont read my battery sometimes...

but yeah they are very good for point and shoot too... and transferring pics to PC is very simple... and picture quality has been excellent too...

eggbert - what u think of the ixus 55? U reckon is worth $100-150 more for the ixus 65?

Think i can get for $480

the ixus 750 is nice but around $570

    I paid $515 for mine ..

    baised though ...

I really like my canon alot .. advantage of the 750 as well is its awesomely quick boot time and massive screen !!!!

i was looking at the panasonic FX 01 as well! except if you have seen the shots it produces in low light situations its crap! check out the sample shots at www.dpreview.com outdoor shots are awesome (bit better than a canon - no purple fringing and bright) and the 28mm lens allows more content to fit in a single photo. Has image stabilisation lens too

Also the battery life is really good, but ive read that the canon battery life is poor in comparison especially using the LCD.

Panasonic has no viewfinder tho - only a LCD but it seems like new cameras are moving towards that direction e.g. ixus 65

Only issue i have is that u get more shake using a LCD rather than the viewfinder

    Guys

    my decision

    Ixus 55 - aug 2005 model, 5MP, 2.5inch LCD $385

    or

    Ixus 65 - March 2006 model, 6MP, 3inch LCD, no viewfinder $480

    Any other options?
