  3. So as the topic states... I have a Levin ZR as many of you know, 08 model (jan 08 :P). Having the wheel mounted audio controls (vol up, vol down / track back/right / mode buttons) works perfect with the stock HU of course. Now...what if i was to change the HU to say...... this... http://www.jvc-australia.com/JVC/client/c_...&prodID=229 (I chose that based on the double din design as I havent the foggiest on how to utilise a single din in it :P plus it looks funky) My question floats like this... Is there a way to utilise these controls, and if not, id prefer them not to be there as ill start using them and they wont work lol. :P I hope someone can help :D PS: if anyone knows of a decent HU that 1. utilises steering wheel buttons and 2. has Bluetooth support out of the box, let me know! :D
  4. I am running these wheels on my car from the day I got the vehicle. I run 225/45/R17 just like the Toyota Site says, however I did not get to choose the rubber installed, they did that for me. They installed Sumitomo Rubber onto the wheels, the rubber aint too bad, I havent had any problems with grip in overly tight situations yet :P I'll let you know how it goes.
  5. Like I said, I guess I did not look hard enough. ;) How much did you pay for your custom exhaust? I've been lookin at the TRD exhaust, is $400au uninstalled worth it? Okay my setup was $600 fitted. Basically its all fresh piping right back from the manifold/cat, all mandrel bent, taking a similar line as the stock system. 2.5 inches the whole way (i beleive) coupled with a Remus Muffler in the tailend. I know some people wanted sound clips and pics, so ill try get them now. :) EDIT: Link to Video...
  6. Given that from what I've seen I'm pretty much the only person who has been game enough to install a cat-back exhaust system in place of the stock unit. (That or I have not been looking hard enough.) The new exhaust that I got fabricated has come up trumps in the 'more punch' department. I find that the response is a bit quicker and it glides up the rev range alot quicker now too rather than struggling as the revs climb around sub-4,000rpm. Unfortunately as the airbox has all the AFM stuff on it its hard to easily just remove the box and place the AFM sensor stuff on some piping for a CAI. But who knows, it might come to play. :) Just my two cents there, I do agree with you. Oh and just for some fun, here's a photo of the stock resonator and mufflers. :P
  7. Zipping through traffic? I'm not that bad on the road am i lol.... i was heading home from work, i do remember seeing you :) LOL fair enough, you didnt cut anyone off, i guess thats a good thing, i was keeping behind for a bit. Was bored. Gonna get myself some new plates soon though.
  8. On my first ZRE152R Levin ZR I used no other than BP Ultimate from delivery and it ran great on it. On the 2nd ZRE152R I have I started with Mobil Synergy 8000 (98) for about 3 fills and noticed it was utter crap, changed to V-Power and the tables turned, it went REALLY good!
  9. I am getting black and white writing on mine. Slimline too since the full size plates make a vibrating sound upon takeoff :( but yeah, should be good :D.....WHEN THE V-PLATES SITE IS NOT UNDER CONSTRUCTION ANYMORE!
  10. My car is an '08 Compliance Corolla. Built Jan 2008. So i might have just been lucky, juts thought id tell ya that. heh
  11. that looks really cool, im still trying to figure out plates for my black possessed levin zr. AUR15 is good :P, i was looking at DEVLZR (devil zr, possessed) or PZEST (lame :P) or DEVNUL (oh yeah linux people!)\ im still trying to decide, i wonder if AUR15 in vic has been taken :P i need to represent the vics in the auris club :P
  12. Spotted a silver ZZE112R Corolla (one before the 07 news) on the ring road last night about 6:25pm or so, had custom plates (4 letters, began with S i beleive), was zipping through traffic.
  13. Basically since there is no real exhausts out there for these 152 series rollas. (well mainstream anyway), some experimentation and custom piping was used. Now the original piping (sans resinators/mufflers) is okay, AND HUGE! (photos of old parts to come) its all mandrel bent from the factory. But I opted for custom piping right through, now this has not thrown an engine light yet, because if it did I'll be very annoyed heh. Travelled 200km or so already on it, seems ok.
  14. yep, ill do that when i get home, it was $600 fitted.
  15. Just came back from Sunbury Exhaust and Performance (well this was about 4:30pm today). Full custom mandrel bent exhaust with a Remus tip. Pretty happy with the result. :)
  16. I just got off the phone to the service centre of my local dealer, and they state that the exhaust can be changed, but basically if you get say a fault in the exhaust, its not covered anymore. So essentially any item you replace in the car is no longer covered in the warranty. for example: if i get a CAI for the car (which is engine related). the engine is now no longer under warranty. however if i get an exhaust system, the exhaust itself will not be covered, however the engine is still under warranty (providing that the fault is not exhaust related) so exhaust, here i come!
  17. saw a gunmetal grey Levin ZR on Tueday with the plates M3LTIN at Airport West Westfield on the upper carpark. :D parked 2 or so cars away, was pretty nice. i need custom plates now.
  18. could u send me the spreadsheet prices? Can't seem to find the pricelist I got, I'll keep looking. I know i did not delete it.
  19. I was conversing with a guy at TMS and he sent me a spreadsheet with all the prices there, and for everything i wanted. Springs, Bumpers front and rear, Twin pipe exhaust system, spoiler came to like $3,000 or so all up AUD
  20. You won't beleive it though. I saw that very car today... Levin ZR in the grey. M3LTIN as the plates, parked up the top carpark of Westfield Airport West. :P I was like, WTF I was told about this car last night. In fact, I had my car parked two places away, some ghetto golf was in the road. :(
  21. yeah i pretty much got an exact replica of the ZR i originally purchased. im still thinking of getting DEVLZR plates in memory of the old ZR... since it was posessed. ;)
  22. The Levin ZR i beleive weighs in at nearly 1,300kg if im not mistaken. Which is quite alot for a 100kW engine. I still would have loved for the Levin ZR to have a bit more grunt over the other models. like the sportivo over the others. just not as much :P but either way, welcome to the family :D
  23. Apparently that's been rectified. But without divulging any personal communications between TMCA and myself. They gave me the option to either have my car repaired, or give me a replacement. Naturally I took the replacement. But that aside, things turned out good, dispite a few bumps along the way.
