  1. Yes I know the road quite well. The thing that worried me was it last about 15-20 sec non stop. Also it wasnt wibration. the whole steerin whell was rattling.

The good thing is that the dealer said that they will be happy to have a look on Tuesday.

  2. I had a scare today. I was driving on the freeway. Peacefull quied ride... Then just before I took an exit the steering wheel started to shake so badly that I had a trouble holding it. Afterabout 200m I stopped at the traffic lights. Slowly took off and drove at 70km/h right to the dealer. He said that he never heard about the issue and that it was possible something got caught in the shaft. However I dont remember seeing anything on the road. This was a 1st time it happened but was really bad. I had a trouble holding the steering wheel. I didnt notice any noises related to the intermediate shaft. I do have problem with car pulling to the right and steering wheel being slightly off centre (to the left) while driving. I thought it might be a wheel aligment issue and will have that corrected on Tuesday while getting new tyres.

Any Ideas what could cause suh a sudden shakes?

  3. Hey guys. On the topic of eBay head units, I came across this one that I would personally think looks promising. The front of it looks completely identical to the Auspack unit, but it seems like it's insides have been given a fresh update. The main one being the higher resolution screen compared to the bulk of the other units out there. Most of the 7 inch screens you find on these things are 480x234. This one here has an LCD screen resolution of 800x480. It also appears to be a better quality TFT screen judging from the richer colours on it. This would mean that it would hold up better in direct sunlight. As well, the interface seems to be really neat and tidy. It even has a built in digital TV tuner. If I didn't already have a head unit, I would be putting some good thought into this one.

Could someone provide feedback for this unit please.

  4. Just quick update. Picked the car yesterday. The dashboard vibrations gone, VVTi oil line was replaced for one metal piece one (paid $170 labour and $45 part). They replaced bailey window channel but I still have a whistling noise from a rear left door/window. Also the slight clunk noise from the right rear wheel is still there. They adjusted hand/foot brake but it didnt help. It only appears when car is parked for a while and then after driving away abt 10-20 meters there is a clunk noise. Yes I read the other thread about ABS thingy but I wonder why it only does on one whell.

  5. Here is what I said:

I am the owner of the 2007 Toyota Aurion Touring. As per your TSB I booked my car for the 2GR-FE VVT-i oil line replacement. I asked about what part it will be replaced with and I was shown some dodgy piece of rubber pipe. Service advisor said that this was a proper fix offered by Toyota and that all current models come with exactly same pipe. I have gone out of my way to show how the repair should be properly done and what parts and service recall bulletins Toyota themselves used on the Avalon to rectify the problem. For me owning Aurion which I paid lots for to have it fixed a shoddy cheap way is not acceptable. I also offered to pay for the parts but I was refused to have them installed it under warranty.

I trust you will rectify this situation as soon as possible at least in my case. As I showed service manager all of your new Toyota Aurions are fitted with a solid pipe (just as per the proper fix on the Avalon). I expect the same to be done on my Toyota Aurion Touring.

    Best Regards.

  6. I thought it will be handy to have issues/recalls with Aurions that were fixed under warranty all in one thread. There are cars that might be close to the end of warranty period and owners might be not aware of the issues (inc me).

    My problems:

    - VVT-i oil hose

Booked at the dealer for service and hose will be replaced. (known issue)

    - Vibration noise from the dashboard (known issue)

    Will be fixed under warrant

    - Whistling type noise comming from left back door

    Will be inspected on Friday

  7. Read warranty books. It states that car has be serviced whole warranty period at the dealer in order to keep an additional 2 years dealer warranty. Because I'm the second owner I cant get a refund for the extended warranty. I'm going to take car for the high pressure hose replacement to Cannon Toyota at Heidelberg. Did anyone had any experience with them?
