  1. OEM Toyota Mudflaps (F & R) now installed. They look so much better than the daggy rear piece of plastic. FIAMM Horns have now been installed; High Tone Part No: 72102 http://www.fiammamerica.com/Product.asp?ProductID=155 Low Tone Part No: 72112 http://www.fiammamerica.com/Product.asp?ProductID=156 Simple plug and play... So much better than the silly OEM horns!
  2. Found another one... - Delkor NX110-5LMF 600CCA 75Ah 140RC http://www.ktbattery.com/delkor/heavy-duty-truck-4wd/delkor-nx110-5lmf-n53-battery.html Price: $155.00AUD
  3. Ok, so I took the Kluger down to my good friend John Large (Owner) from Brakes Plus Underwood. http://www.brakesplus.com.au/franchise.php?mode=viewstore&fid=890 He put the Kluger on the brake dyno and the brakes are "EXCEPTIONAL". So maybe it is all me, just getting used to the pedal feel, extra weight of the Kluger. As I have only had it for 2 weeks now. So that is re-assuring to know.
  4. Not likely... ...However I would be interested also if the price was right! Maybe source the parts from Toyota. I do know that the KX-S and Grande share the same body control unit (except for smart start / entry) so could it could actually be possible!
  5. Hi, thanks for your input. I am considering the AC Delco, good specs and only $119.00. However I like the idea of the Bosch S5, however it is not available in OZ yet. The S4 is though and you can go past these specs and the cost is $195...
  6. Mine is a GSU40R (2wd). Also there is GSU45R (AWD) Mine is a 12/2008 so would be due December this year. Still keen to look at the fluid to a higher boiling point and might also look at the pads.
  7. Mate, if you have a Presara; you already have HID Xenon Low Beam Lights. If, like I read you are wanting to change the High Beams why bother! Unless because of your location you do alot of country driving. My previous VW Passat had Bi-Xenon Headlights with AFS. This did both high and low beams. Not sure if the Presara is Bi-Xenon. P.S. There is a reason this HID kits are so cheap!!!
  8. Thanks for your input. Firstly, there is no problem. The pedal is not soft / spongy, however I think an upgrade to a higher boiling point Brake Fluid would be worth a try. No smell from brake pads, but I think some replacement pads would be great; OEM Toyota Pads at this stage. I am finding it very difficult to source any aftermarket pads for 2008+ Klugers. I think the caliper carriers should be fine to suit the 4 pot calipers as they are Toyota Units. Might be worth a try. I have read a few forums in relatiion to these upgrades, not neceserally in relation to Klugers, both other makes and models. I really think it is just me adjusting to the way the Kluger stops. The extra Weight transfer etc. Obviously different than all my previous cars... Does anyone know of any after market pads for these cars? Basically at this stage, I will most likely look at a fluid change and pad change for more "Peace Of Mind"...
  9. Thanks for your input. Yeah, 12/2008 Kluger KX-S... Maybe it's the extra weight that the Kluger carries, but I still feel that it needs some improvements. Anyway, if anyone has any suggestions as to improvements; please let me know.
  10. Hi All, Only had the Kluger for a short time, however I feel that the brakes need some improvement. Now the car has less than 20,000kms on it, so I imagine they are not worn yet. Are people upgrading there brakes? Changing Pads or are the OEM Toyota Pads up to scratch? Changing the Brake Fluid, or is the OEM Brake Fluid ok? What about brake conversions... I was thinking about getting the front 4 piston calipers from a Hilux / Prado / Landcruiser and seeing if they would be a straight "bolt on" upgrade. What are your thoughts / experiences guys... Happy to discuss!
  11. Here are some more; - Bosch S3 55D26L 500CCA 60Ah 100RC - Bosch S4 90D26L 620CCA 75Ah 140RC - Bosch S5 110D26L 680CCA 90Ah 160RC http://www.bosch.com.au/content/language1/downloads/Bosch_Battery_Catalogue_Web_Ready.pdf
  12. Hi All, After some input here... Looking to change the OEM Toyota Battery with one of the following; - Supercharge MF80D26L 650CCA 125RC http://www.supercharge.com.au/product_detail.php?seq=54 - AC Delco S80D26L 600CCA 70Ah 130RC http://www.acdelco.com.au/PDFs/Catalogue_ACDelco_Batteries_22-07-09.pdf - Century NS70L 520CCA 110RC http://www.centurybatteries.com.au/files/All_PDFs/NS70L_Century_Spec%20Sheet.pdf - Century NS70LX 545CCA 130RC http://www.centurybatteries.com.au/files/All_PDFs/NS70LX_Century_Spec%20Sheet.pdf - Exide N50ZZL 600CCA 120RC http://www.exide.com.au/fitment/index.php - Varta Blue dynamic E23 5704120633132 630CCA 70Ah http://www.varta-automotive.com/index.php?id=258&L= The dimensions (max) (L) 261mm (W) 175mm (H) 220mm What are your thoughts, experiences guys... Or what have I missed?
  13. <br /><br /><br />Any chance you've got a quote for the cost of part and installation by a dealer? Yes I realise I am capable of doing this myself, just thought I'd check as you may have already done this :-) Whofan, not done yet mate. Will let you know... Will be taking to dealer though, as the new switch needs to be programmed.
  14. Here is some additional info I have found regarding the US Spec Highlanders; - V6 Towing Prep Package [3] - includes 5000-lb. towing capacity, heavy-duty radiator with engine oil cooler, 240-watt fan coupling, transmission oil cooler with water cooler, 150-amp alternator and prewired harness. I wonder, do we have all that in our Klugers?
  15. The Light Sensor is Part No: TO-8912150020. It is standard on KX-S and Grande models.
  16. This is the part number of the Transmission Cooler; TO-920-48060 or TO-920-48061. (Radiator) And yes it confirmed as an ATM Oil Cooler. Standard on our Klugers, however this forms part of the 5000LBS Towing Pack as an option in the US Market.
  17. Any ideas where this would fit in the Kluger? Do you think it will require steering wheel removal or perhaps under the dash someplace? or is that part of your "will keep you up to date?" ;) It is just a new indicator stalk / switch assembly. It just has a rotation to enable AUTO, just like turning your lights on / off or turning your Fogs on / off. No aftermarket switch or anything messy like that. OEM parts only, as per Grande...
  18. Buzzer / Buzz / Beep what ever that annoying noise is when you lock / un-lock the doors! It is now gone!
  19. The Switch Assembly Part No: TO-8414042070 with AUTO Function. I have confirmed that the KX-S has the Light Sensor on the dash, it should be a simple plug and play. The Grande and KX-S share the same body control module (except for the Smart Access / Start feature) Both have the Light Sensor in the middle of the dash... Will keep you up to date...
  20. I have taken the car to Toyota and have disabled the buzzer for locking / un-locking the vehicle. Unfortunatly we are unable to activate the "Auto Lock" function as it is un-available in OZ (supposably)...
  21. Thanks for that, will take a trip down to my local dealer to get these done!
  22. Hi All, As per page 166 of the owners manual. Has anyone been able to retro-fit this into there KX-S? It appears that we have the Headlight Control Sensor already mounted on top of the dash (centre), below the windscreen. Although we do not have the headlight stalk / switch mechanism. Could it be a simple plug and play and swap over the headlight stalk / switch mechanism? Or could it be more complicated and require a new wiring loom etc? Happy to discuss...
  23. Hi All, I refer to page 410 of the owners manual. Has anyone had any success changing any of these functions? Is there a "How To" or is it "Dealer Only" for these changes? This is what I would like to do; - Disable "buzzer" when you lock / un-lock the vehicle with the remote. - Activate "Auto Lock' function when the vehicle moves, un-lock when ignition key removed. Open to thoughts...
  24. As this is my 18th car, but first SUV, I am not a novice in relation to motor vehicles. Before my purchase, I read some issues about the transmission in the Klugers. Basically a Kluger is running Aurion running gear; Engine / Transmission. However, instead of being 1500kg, a Kluger is around 2000kg. Add to that towing etc. More heat, more strain and load on the transmission. But maybe this concern was on early model Klugers and maybe Toyota rose to the challenge and added a Transmission Cooler. Mine has it, but do others? Or was this a dealer fitted option? I feel better now knowing that mine has a Transmission Cooler. Open to thoughts / experiences...
  25. I looked a little closer and can confirm that it is a Transmission Cooler. It is a 7 Row Cooler. The lines that go in and out lead to the radiator / transmission case. These lines are printed / stamped A/T Oil. Can anyone else confirm this on their Kluger?
