As someone said to me when i was doin the same thing u r doin atm, all people on here are enthusiasts and therefore biased towards the car however it really is an awesome car and drives and handles great Also redbook quotes the 05 model to weight 1200 instead of 1224 in the 03-04 model but that could be wrong neway good luck with the buy
Yokohama A-Drive R1's are a good sporty tyre. A little more expensive than others but they last a long time and a good in the dry and wet. 205/50/R16 is what I have replaced a would recommend these for daily driving. Any track work, I'd recommend others!
Hey, I got my sportivo at 51K n am now at 63K with no problems whatsoever with anything. I reckon its a decent gearbox for just getting around town and also when u want to have a bit of fun. ill get back to u once its done more K's
Just wondering what you guys thought looked better. I have an 05 Sportivo and wanted to move the badges onto the kit like the 03-04 stivo. These are the badges that sit high on drivers and passengers door. Is it easy to remove and replace them and do u guys reckon it looks better. thanks
hey, kinda still new on the forums havent been to one of these meets before, but would love to see what other sportivo owners have done b4 i start modifying it i have had the rolla for about 3-4 months n i still love lift. also shuts up anyone in the car! so if u guys post a definite day, time n location that should be awesome
Hey, I did the AAMI driving course on saturday n it was awesome. Taking my stivo through the slalom was great. The standard brakes are fantastic but the only thing is during the hairpin corner the car just understeered. But it felt kinda controlled understeer so i just slid the car around the hairpin. I also think its my tyres cause they are old. Have you guys done the course n what did u think???
Thanks heaps guys Ive just got my slim line plates so im starting small with my mods n ill go from there. The next best thing ill do is probably illuminated door sills. Other than that ill try better tyres cause when i bought my rolla it had the original tyres up from but different ones on the rear called "Supercat" Clearly this brand is so awesome that nobody will have heard of it. But i think the point about suspension brakes and tyres are the best mods for handling makes sense. So ill look up the tyre section to see what the best ones r. Thanks again
Hey, just wondering what sort of setup everyone has in relationship to suspension. It seems most people do the front strut bar and rear sway bar. I understand that they reduce body roll. But my question is what does that mean for the everyday ride?? Is it harder or barely noticeable until you are really hammering into corners??? And also what sort of handling do these mods offer.
go to www.redbook.com.au as they have all the info on the sportivos i bought my sportivo a month ago n i was researching for ages what to get and whether to buy the 03, 04 or 05. the 05 has more features but mechanically i believe they are the same one thing is that the weight of the 03,04 and 92 sportivos weight 1224kgs while the 5Y weights 1200kg. i got a 5Y so 24 kgs saved but that could be wrong im not sure good luck with the buy!!
Here's the list so far: 1. azzman372 2. 123r-prozak. Aka daniel 3. MrCrazyRolla (blue) (Sunshine Coast) -- willing to pick up from goldy. 4. Corolla.au 5. Sergio - Red - Sydney 6. kewl10_mac - Red - Melbourne 7. 8. 9. 10. hope to get more interest!!!!
check out the 03 levin as they had the same colour as the 03 sportivo alternatively, u could try go down to a car yard n see if ne corolla's from about 02/03-06/07 have that little door then just match the paint
i might just wait n see neway, i have no money left after the sportivo, fully comp insurance, transfer of rego n re-registrating it so ill just save up for a CAI whats the TRD cai like???
Hey, not sure if this has been posted b4 but here goes... i just got my stivo 2 days ago n love hittin lift every now n then!!! i was just wondering whats better, a cai or pod filter. cause i can get a pod filter from autobarn for about $30 but thats sounds kinda cheap for a mod but would give a good sound. n im pretty sure the cai gives extra power but how much???? thanks
I just wanted to hear anybody's experiences with the Corolla sportivo, how it handles, performs, drives, anything that you can think of as i am considering buying one, possibly to 03 - 04 model. any help would be greatly appreciated
