  1. also mate if u av a look a couple of posts up ^^^^ ul find that azza has posted a pic of his car with stock rims on 'lows' ← Yeah I saw that but I was asking if the stivo was the same as the other run of the mill 4wd ride height rolla to start with... Pippy, Thanks for garage insight, I had a look at some others but not much help. Yours was good, thanks!!!
  2. Can someone post a link or something cause I would like to have a read...but red x's suck... Oh and I usually don't even look twice at Hot 4's so it should be interesting...
  3. How much lower is the Sportivo over the normal Rolla??? Also does anyone have any pics of a normal rolla running 16's with low kings??? I managed to rangle a set of kings new for $100 (labour=free) but deciding if I want to do it to the run about is another thing...
  4. And the maturity continues...seems that school holidays just keep going for some... ← Bob mate, some people like comedy relief, it is how we keep life from becoming dull and being unhappy. No one cares if you didnt find it funny, no one cares how old you think i am - so why post it? why waste your time even reading my post? And before you start whining about hypocracy - i am posting this because you annoy me Bob and i have difficulty refraining from commenting about people whom annoy me. The point is, my comment had purpose, yours did not. ← Start a joke thread in other discussion or something then...your input is fairly limited at best, and the humour is barely scrapping grade 7...so I am glad that I annoy you...maybe when you grow up you will learn when to shut up...and stay out of something unless you have some valid information or a intelligent response. Coladuna, sorry mate my point was this was about what people use as the factory specs provide limited guidance, especially compared to what Toyota actually put in it and what dealers use. Silva, yeah that would be a good read, also any specs on clearances and piston squish etc that would also be great if you could find any...

  6. Really it says that in the manual/...get out of town... I was asking what people run...not what the manual says...
  7. Yeah I will just follow the service book on this one... Costs enough to change the line every 5,000km's...and this is a runaround not a performance car!!! I might just run the Pennzoil since I get that for free...
  8. Yeah most makes use Castrol...just trying to find out what it is... Mobil 1 seems to thin based on a 10w30 Toyota weight... I search and found minimal concrete info...however I will continue!!
  9. Damn...my skyline is only $900...and the Rolla is $480...Rating one for life and 26!!! Seems QLD is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much cheaper!!
  10. Ok, this is an age old question, but could not find much info on it here. I do not like Toyota service departments, we have had a falling out and that is where it will stay. (But I will just say that my mum is more of a mechanic than some of those genius's...) Can anyone provide the specs of the oil toyota use on the 1ZZ?? Also what oils you run if not Toyota brand (which is in fact not Toyota...)?? All opinions WELCOME!!! (Besides telling me to go to a dealer......) As a note, I run Pennzoil Full Synthetic in the skyline due to forged pistons and chrome moly rings, used Magnetec in the Pulsar (SR20) and same oil in the old 7A-FE...so I am at my wits end about finding specs on type of ring and bore clearances and operating engine temps to choose the right oil....
  11. I think you almost need to upgrade the brakes with that level of equipment in the boot!!! Nice work, clean install!!! :D
  12. Yes they have different model numbers out of Japan, However, as these cars are all shipped, some parts are changed upon arrival in Australia or anywhere else. They do NOT come in as all Ascents... However, some items, such as on the ascent sports are added here, like the spoiler as there is too greater risk of damaging it in transit. This is also the case for door handles as far as I have been told, obviously I do not work for toyota but have seen the holding yard in Brisbane and Sydney and they are the same. Sum parts are changes EXTERNALLY only not interior for the mere fact to protect the car. And they do not repaint door handles. The spray booths are for items such as spoilers and other dealer fitted items so that they do not have to be sent to Japan for painting when someone orders it on a new car...
  13. err dyno dave did this 132kw atw on a motec?? has dyno dave finally bought a dyno? or is he still using a rental? ← The only sportivo that i have seen even come close to this was leanne ferrari's and she had the engine blue printed..... big $$$$$$$$$ ← WOAH!!! Blue printing is LOVE!!! :) :) because while your doing that.. i am sure the engine builder did some stealth Extrude Honing :) :) i know i would if i was blue printing hehehe if not blue printing it still an awesome mod.. but damn you have to be minted!! or serious about wanting to race your car.. or getting it ready for some serious internals :) respect to leanne!! ← Ummm you do know what blue printing is now don't you.......
  14. Yep this works perfectly!! Says mine is Japan, and it is according to the build plate which says Nov 01, but complied Jan 2002. Oh and alot of the cars come to Oz as ascent, the additional parts for the conquest and sport are supplied separately and assembled here depending on demand. they do not "paint" the door handles, they merely swap them for colour coded etc, stupid exercise but hey... ← nah they just take the handles and strips off and paint em in one go - dont believe me? pull ur door handle and look underneath its all black plastic ← Trust me, they do not strip and re-paint door handles. ← THEY ARE NOT REPAINTED!!! I agree with the last POST 100% The process is highly involved...ever seen dickheads paint their own bumpers and the paint flakes...same deal!!!

  16. So true I like your car, follows similar ideals that I had with my n15SSS, simple clean lines!!! But its your wife's car... I will have to come out soon, the rolla gets a tint on Sat, I think I need to lower it...the damn conquest handles like a bus. I might even bring the line out, I have a sticker for the rolla that reads... "I drive this cause I cannot afford fuel for my Skyline, what's your excuse" But then again that may have ill effects on here even though it is a joke!!!
  17. As an "old school" person I started visiting such places nearly a decade ago... And yes obviously I am in Queensland, the rolla is currently a run-around and I think modifications are on the back burner until the line is back up to scratch!!!
  18. Hi all, well I am a long time looker and short time member...and yes this is my first post...but I have to add a few things in... Firstly, I previously owned a AE101R (please correct me it was a 1995 Seca RV) with a very unstandard engine (from a friend that used to rally that shape...), I recently just bought a ZZE122 (Conquest granny style) after selling a 2000 n15 SSS. Now my other car at the moment is a reasonably stock R33 (read standard boost but engine rebuilt etc etc), and I have to say in ALL the time of owning these two cars I am yet to be able to beat let alone come close to the missus when she drive the line, and it is the same the other way around. The AE was quicker, be it had an engine swap but it was still a 7A-FE...and N/A In addition, my mate who OWNS my previous SSS is also able to take me. The other fact is these are all done from the lights to the relative speed limit. The variance also become apparant when out on the drag strip... Street racing to excess of the speed limit is not only stupid but dangerous and places additional risk on your life and the lives around you... I see that there is a sticky for timesleeps, maybe its best to take it to the strip and leave it there...enough of the traffic light grandprix...... Or if that does not float your boat come out to QR or any other decent track around Oz and learn the limits the safe way (I just realised I sound like my old man, sad part is he used to be in drag racing...)
