1.
Yes no difference on that side. Just make sure you don't get the air injection edition. All 2zzs are the same, except on the air injection system. Make sure you get a new gasket, just to be on the safe side.

Btw have you bought it yet?

didn't buy it yet. i'm making sure it will be the right one. which one is the air injection edition? i don't get that part.. :S
2. It's already clear that in order to install the header, you need to put the resonator a bit backwards. but my last question is still unanswered :( will the header just bolt on (without any modification) to the engine itself? then i'm talking about an Japan built..
3. Another question guys.. Mine Corolla is from Japan. I assume that the PPE header is for an American built. Someone back here told me that the the diameter of the pipes may differ (Japan built VS US built) You guys that fitted the PPE header on the Corolla, is it Jap built or US built?
4.

i guess you have a 1zz? i read somewhere on the forum that the sportivo 6 speed trans. isnt a great option for a swap.. if you trashed the auto trans. then its probebly not impossable to swap for a manual 1zz trans.. besides carving a hole into the floor for the clutch, not exactly sure what other complications involved, the most sensable option is to return your car to stock and trade in for a manual, then install your small mods into the manual!

no, I have a 2zzge. It was just some crazy idea that cam up :) after I posted this topic I searched bit on the forum and saw that this is already mentioned a couple of times..
5. Hi guys.. Now that I started with some little mods, I have this crazy idea of converting my automatic transmission to a manual. how feasible is that? what does it take to do this kind of conversion?
6.

yup, that's a real pity :(
7. Hi guys, another update.. Got my K&N typhoon SRI installed yesterday.. Didn't drive the car afterwards.. began to rain suddenly So can't tell anything about the performance But it looks and sound good.. some pics:
8. I will not expect too much of improvement :P lol I don't think i'll be disappointed. What is the average time for our sportivo on a quarter mile run? full stock? And how much difference (in time) after certain mods?
9. i think with what u bought u should be fine Thanks.. Can't wait till everything arrives.. I'm curious for the results of the mods Hopefully i won't be disappointed, cause it's a whole lot of money going in for these mods lol
10. Given that ur running ur car and using the fuel already i'd say that the tune of ur factory ecu is already setup to deal with what is locally available as fuel for ur country. if u do an ecu reset generally speaking it will adjust itself to what its seeing off the various sensors on ur car .... this adjustment however will be marginal as the ecu is generally limited in how much adjustment it can make as the expecation from car manufactorers is to allow a little variation but not too much .... dont forget the stock ecu is not expecting to be running anything above and beyond being stock ...... will it be the right fuel mixture .... i probably assume it wont be as u generally find car makers stick to the safe side and run stock setups a little richer than required ..... only way to get the "right" fuel mixture as u put it is to get an aftermarket ecu and get a tuner to tune it to match ur mods. i would say in terms of peak power u will see a gain of 5%-10% ..... which isnt huge but should hopefully be marginally noticeable ..... where u should notice the difference though is lower in the rev range where the car should be more driveable and not as sluggish building the revs ...... as long as ofcourse u dont go too big on the intake and not too big on the exhaust because if u do u will simply kill any performance gains. Thanks Xoom. This answer helped a lot and made most of my questions clear Can you clarify your last sentence for me? how big is too big? I have a K&N typhoon SRI underway (should arrive today! ) and will have PPE headers and 2,5" all the way (no cat, Magnaflow catback and Magnaflow mufler (mufler already on the car))
11. Yup, mine is an auto (with tiptronic) I really preferred manual over auto, but unfortunately only auto's here. Only one guy i know of has a manual... congrats to him For the fitment on the auto transmission, I contacted PPE and hey say that it's also applicable for the auto transmission..
12. just something i didn't look at...! Is the PPE header also applicable for an automatic transmission??
13. I asked Sol Suriname here for some information about our fuel. They say (and i saw the documentation) that the fuel is 95 RON. So if you know read the post i started this thread with, than i don't have any problems at all right? I will install headers, intake an exhaust; not in the planning to do anymore mods after this. one thing is still a bit unclear for me. If i do the mods (I/H/E) will the ECU automatically adjust to the right air/fuel mixture? After these upgrades, what kind of improvement can i expect??
14. he could just add a safe guard setup to the PFC http://www.jandssafeguard.com/ Or use Copilot with the Datalogit instead of the FC-Edit software. don't even know nor do i understand what these things are.. but okay, most important thing for me to know is, is the 86 RON gonna be harmful to the engine after these I/H/E mods? (if i just leave the stock ECU and add no other device)
15. hmm.. that's intresting. I will do a little 'research' back here and ask if it is te Research Octane Number or the Motor Octane Number
16. another thing..? if I just run on the stock ECU, is the header upgrade even gonna be worth it? will i have significant power gains? or is it best to add a piggy back after the I/H/E mods? what's gonna be the difference between adding a piggy back or just run stock ECU (after resetting it)?
17. The catalytic converter only needs to stay if it is illegal to remove it in your Country. If you remove the cat something needs to be done to trick the o2 sensor into thinking the cat is still there. If you are using the stock ECU then you need to use the stock o2 sensor. If you are using a PowerFC then it isn't required. If you want to add a bung for another o2 sensor (the PPE manifold should already come with one, but confirm with PPE) yes you just drill a hole and weld in a bung; PPE sell bungs too.If you want to use a gauge to monitor your AFRs you will need to buy an after market wideband set up. for now, I'm just gonna run on the stock ECU. I will also remove the catalytic converter, which is not illegal back here. so i just drill a hole and put in the O2 sensor?
18. ok.. but the main question is still unanswered. How much of a disadvantage or influence will the fuel have, looking at the performance. Lets say that you make this comparison: the power gains after I/H/E mods with a good fuel (octane 91) andthe power gains after I/H/E mods with a poor fuel (octane 86) andboth of these fuels compared against stock (no performance mods) If give a rating from 1 to 10, how will you rate this?
19. Nope.. really really sad about that. I didn't know our fuel sucked that much, until i began looking at the upgrades i want to do.
20. When installing these headers, what are the most important things i Need to know? Is it necessary to leave the catalytic converter? What will happen with the O2 sensor?can i just bore a hole in the 2.5" pipe after the header and put in the O2 sensor? Can the stock O2 sensor be used or do i have to change it with an 'high flow sensor'? any other things i need to know?
21. Hi guys, A fuel question here.. I'm about to do some performance mods; just the basic. Intake, Headers and Exhaust. Now it's a fact that back here in Suriname, our fuel contains only 86 octane. Been told by some people back here that the mods i want to do, are not gonna have much affect, cause the fuel is not very good. The advice that they give, is that i need to somehow manage the fuel in order to let the engine get more fuel. more fuel will compensate the 'gap' of missing octane. If i don't get to manage the fuel, then it will be a waist of money for all these mods..! is that true?? and also if i don't manage the fuel, the car will run poor. Is that true?? Please advice.. Will i have less power gains with the I/H/E mods, looking at the fuel type whe have here?
22. $150 more to get it ceramic coated Is it really necessary to do this, performance wise? How much difference will it make?
23. Thinking about going stock when selling car, i don't think it's a good idea to get the stock manifold ported. The PPE will give mid-high end power gains, but what about low/acceleration? any difference according that? will it slightly increase/decrease or stay just the same? thanks for the advice.. is this the one I'm after? PPE headers @ PPE Ended up putting it in the Celica as it was cheaper to order the PPE midpipe to go with it. No dynos have been done with the upgrade though. FWIW the stock Celica and Corolla mid pipes are identical except after the resonator. Will also work on the corolla sportivo right, if i let an exhaust shop set the midpipe a bit to the back. (that's the only modification required right?) ?
24. Hi guys.. I know this is already mentioned a thousand times... I read all of the posts, pros and cons.. Know I think that I'm sure that i'll get the PPE headers. Is this the right one for my car? Corolla sportivo 2zzge VVTL-i zze123??? PPE header @ monkeywrench
25. ok, thanks guys. it helped a bit. i will first work on the I/H/E Already have a Magnaflow muffler and a K&N intake on the way. I'm still looking at some headers..
