To be honest, I see that grille on just about every single done-up Hilux around.
Part of having heart and soul is individuality, uniqueness, something that your car can provide that no other one can (or few others).
Pretty much.
A chrome grill is not a fundamental feature of 'heart and soul'.

I had purchased the Haynes manual for my 1999 Camry Wagon (same engine), but it did not cover much about the wagons electrics at the back, as the manual is US based. So I contacted Haynes by email, and after some searching on their part, emailed the sections of the manual that was not included.
I suggest you contact Haynes and ask if they can provide you the information on the VVT-i, as it is not covered in the manual.
Why would you bother?
The 1mz-fe here in Australia did not get VVT-i

My dad's 08 SR5 xtra cab 4.0 V6 has plenty of heart and soul for my liking, especially with the chrome grill. It has the show and ALOT of go.
Say what???

The Australian 1mz-fe for the Camry did not come with VVT-i.
Haynes and Gregorys (both of which I have) are based on the 30 series, not the 36 series. The only manual which will come close to being useful is the ACV/MCV36 workshop manual you can buy from Toyota (about $150). But even this manual is wrong as well.

A couple more. I know I have forgotten a few.
Wolf's Chemicals Decon Gel (Brake Duster): Like most other wheel cleaners, leaves me hollow and somewhat disappointed.
This cleaner is very similar to the Sonax wheel cleaner and has all the properties of it (including the purple reaction you get on brake dust) but unfortunately suffers from the dusty residue that gets left behind. A better buy than the sonax as you get 1L for $26.
Dodo Juice Born to be Mild: A car wash product similiar to Meguiars NXT but in a handy pint sized bottle.
A pH balanced, wax-friendly car wash that has great suds. Slick feel and is highly concentrated so you only need a few caps to your bucket. Very similar to Meguiars NXT except the bottle is smaller so you don't have to lug around as much.
Megiuars Hot Shine Tyre Foam: Shines yes, cleans - so so
Designed to be a tyre cleaner and shiner in one, it really excels in the shining department but doesn't really clean the tyre very well. The shine however lasts for a fair amount of time (even after rain) and is easy to apply.
Menzerna IP2000: Predecessor to Menzerna's PF2500 this old mule still has plenty of pulling power
Extremely similar on all points to PF2500 except it's probably not suitable as a standalone polish and will need to be finished off using UF5000 or similar polish. Highly recommended nonetheless.
As seen below, makes mincemeat of a panel wet-sanded with 2000grit.
Tidied up the initial post, marginally easier to read and have all products listed to make it easier to find.

a claybar isn't designed to hide or remove scratches. Meguiars UItimate Compound is OK but it really isn't much chop as you need to use a lighter polish on top to remove the marks UC makes.
-
Still waiting....
-
If you can catch your finger on the scratch you can't 'get it out'.
-
Strange - why would they be parting out such a car?
Maybe got one of those K-Sport kits.
A little bit more money, but braided lines, 8-pistons, and anywhere up to (and above) 350mm rotor!!!!

they changed oil with same oil? they didnt put NEW oil in?
I assumed he meant same type of oil.

Why would you want to tint your headlights is beyond me. Taillights I get.
Get some proper projector lenses for your corolla and that will look good enough.
-
I would love to go cruising but you've only specified celica owners so I guess that counts me out.
-
You will not be able to get 0.8s off your time with $500.

To me character isn't built by how great a car is either, it's the things that aren't so great. It's hard to explain, almost like the "perfectly built car is boring.
Holy ******! My car is quite a character then.

I believe the discussion is about Toyota, I think the majority of people buying vehicles are for it's practicality, confines of budget, safety, fuel economy etc. How many non enthusiasts go out to buy a car for it's heart and soul, what I'm saying are people who do seek a car with heart and soul will not be excited by what Toyota currently produces.
Which is true, but don't forget you said:
it just shows how Toyota isn't building desirable cars of late.
which is clearly untrue given their roaring popularity. Had you said something like:
As an example k20 powered mr2 is absolutely insane but for argument sake 2zz isn't bad either I suppose we need to find a b18 one for comparison, it just shows how Toyota isn't building cars that are suited for drivers who have a passion for driving anymore.
I would have agreed. While I think the Gen 2 Aurion Sportivo looks good, I have no doubt it will be soulless as the rest of their current range (even if they are good at what they are designed for).

Consistently staying at the top (or close to) of the 'new vehicle sales figures for month ended' suggests otherwise.
-
Man. No one asks me what the weather is like.
-
Seriously. I like the new Aurion Sportivo but not sold on the Gen7 Camry.
Besides, a car that looks good does not indicate it has heart or soul.
-
That looks no better than the New Aurion or Camry.
-
Door trim will probably cost The Franklin Mint.
I was quoted ~$700ea for front door trims for a Gen5 Camry Sportivo. I can't imagine he price for an Aurion door trim to be cheaper
-
In. That's what he means.
-
It's only abit of plastic (the mudguards). No need to take off the front bar; even I (Captain Chipolata Fingers and No Dexterity) had no issues getting under there in the past.

Disagree.
If you don't know what you're doing you'll do more damage to your finish compared to not doing anything to it at all.
