  1. When i was with AAMI they let me have 3 mods at no charge and charged me for each one after.

My premium didn't change when I put on the CAI, extractors and catback but did when I added anything else to the policy.

As for telling you insurers about your mods? You'd have to be an A-grade fool if you don't.

  2. BP Ultimate/Caltex Vortex 98/Shell V-Power all claim to have cleaning properties but if you car hasn't had much tlc in the way of regular filling with these fuels/injector clean/injector cleaning additive there probably isn't too much you can do by switching over now.

However, if you're not keen on paying for a proper injector clean (ultrasonic, around $150-200 depending on where you go), buy a couple of bottles of Fuel Doctor. Run a shock treatment on a full tank (1 bottle to the tank), then use single dosages on subsequent tanks until you run out. I can't comment if whether it will actually make a difference as it depends on how your injectors are currently performing. Before modding, I used to run 2/3 tanks of regular (91) and then fill with a 98 on every fourth.

A full synthetic probably isn't necessary as you could get away with a good quality semi-synthetic. Something like a Penrite HPR or Mobil Super 2000 would be sufficient.

  3. Swap to gen 3 Camry hubs + gen 6 rotor/caliper combo, gen 3 strut, gen 2 strut top

Grab gen 3 or 4 hubs for the rears

If you do the rears, a Gen5/6 (same over both generations) rear brake upgrade as well.

edit: I am 99% certain you can grab hubs from a Gen3/4/5 which will fit.

  4. Today I was finally bothered enough to wash and wax the TRD. I did a half-ar** job of it though, but considering the surface felt pretty sticky, something is better than nothing. It has been 3 months since I last waxed her... which if you know me, is ages. I wouldn't have bothered, but considering that it looks like wet weather is on it's way after all the dry days/months we have had, I figured I may as well prepare a little.

Car desperately needs a clay. i might get my.clean on this week sometime.

  5. Had my muffler replaced today.

Was happy with Lukey so I stuck with them but picked up an Ultra Flo muffler instead of the Turbo muffler (straight through). The car no longer buzzes and the only change in terms of sound (from coasting, casual driving, aggressive acceleration, idle) is the volume. It is louder when under load(but not by much when in the cabin) but the tone/way it sounds has not changed at all; the idle noise from the outside has not changed at all either.

  6. You want good speakers/tweeters which means you need to spend more than.$7.

Factory speakers are ok especially if you put.a.new headuunit in.

However, a pair of individual tweeters can be hooked.up to factory with as little as the tweeters and a capacitor to permit high frequencies only.

  7. From memory the Gen6 setup is a cheap, good value for money brake upgrade for a Gen4 (which unfortunately had pretty ****ty brakes). It all just bolts on!

Do u still have ur old setup for sale Anthony? I was thinking of popping em on my gen4 ^^.

Say, you wouldnt happen to know how many mm's in diameter the gen6 rotors are?

I still have the old setup but not quite available at present. i will keep ou informed when they new available.

Rotors on the gen6 are 296*28mm
