  1. balancing up to 120 is for a normal street driven car, as if they're done to 120 you should not get any vibration during normal street use. It's up to the wheel shops machinery as to what speed they can balance to, I've never asked for higher than 120

  2. the QLD modification guidelines also state that you are not allowed to modify the factory silencing devices, I've got mates who have taken it to court and lost.

One of the other guys was also given a standing defect for "modified seating capacity" on his parked and locked car for having one side of his split fold rear seats down... He got off on that one though ;)

  3. $1K is fairly expensive for the installation but toyota service is not known to be cheap in the first place with their standard labour rate. I've seen gearbox shops charge between $300 and 600 for the same job with warranty. That does not include removing the box from the car and re-installing though :s

For anyone interested in seeing what's involved in pulling apart a corolla box, have a look at Carl's great guide here: http://www.ae92gts.com/ae92gts_trans_rb_1.html

The 5-speed he rebuilt and installed the LSD into there is extremely similar to the sportivo 6-speed with regards to dissasembly etc.

  4. We'll see what increase MAP81's $300, flanged and mandrel bent cat back system provides when he gets time off work to have it made. He's getting it done at the same place that did my chaser's pipes which was $900 for a 3" turbo back mandrel bent exhaust incl high flow cat, with immaculate workmanship.

  5. ...quite sure.

I've done more conversion wiring and emanage installs than most...

The emanage is giving him an ignition fault code for only one of the coils, if it was a ground issue with the emanage it would be spitting out more than one code.

With the home-made loom adapater that's being used in this setup, if it's not treated with care it's easy for one of the legs to get a hairline crack in it too which is hard to detect when it's covered in heatshrink.
