  1. did you find out what the problem is ? I'm getting the exact same between shifting at high rpm...

eekkk and i just brought the car.

sorry for the old thread dig up ! cheers guys...

haha kolourhero must have been flogging it :D just get it checked out with a mechanic first. I know that northern brake/clutch sell exedy HD clutch for 350 if u are interested

  2. Do i really need the washer?

    Nope.

But if you do, just take the bolt to Bunnings and see if you can find an aluminium or copper washer that will fit over; don't use steel.

haha I was gonna say yes. :) it's there for a reason right? I think you should still get one but if it's not leaking oil I guess it's alright. And yes iPhone sucks balls. The buttons r too small for my fat fingers :D

  3. Hey guys about to change oil what is the size of the washer for oil sump? Is it necessary to replace it? Btw this is for a sportivo

dude, triple thread LOL. Why u need to replace it for? if its cracked or something just get the genuine one from toyota. its like a couple of bucks.

  4. wheres a good wreckers in melbourne that actually has corolla's??

go to toyota spare parts in deer park, they got EVERY SINGLE toyota you can think of there. I just got my rear scuff plates cuz the old ones clips had gone to ****. Got the japanese ones :D from the levins they ARE the same colour right? the interior only comes in tan and dark grey... perhaps they are a bit dirty and need a good clean :)

  5. just went to my mechanic and he said it would cost me $1500 to put on front and back springs + shocks

and it would cost $1500 for a exedy hd clutch installation..

    both these quotes include parts..

just wanted to find out if this is generally the cost? as i think its might expensive..

that's a bit pricey, i can get the clutch installed for $1,100. did the $1,500 include the brakes as well? and what brand are the shocks and springs?

keep shopping around. doing up second hand car's a bitch :(

  6. You shouldn't be scrubbing on superlows with stock wheels. Perhaps you mean you scraping everything? I don't even get scrubbing..

how don't you... mine actually scrubs the inner guard over hard bumps, hard bumps on the highway lol :P

it may have something to do with running 45's instead of 40's lol

    Evo

haha brissy roads are prolly a bit different to melb and perth?:D

    Yeah they are smoother...... :P

i'm jealous  , how are the speed bumps there? aren't they supposed to be higher than melbourne's? i'd hate to drive my car there scratching on each one i pass over

Dude how fast are you going over the speed humps? I don't scrape on any humps whatsoever, except one at uni which is such a bitch to get over

I have to admit most of Perth roads are pretty good, just some of them are poop.

i dont go that quick, very slow in fact. i still just manage to clear on some speed bumps here...

you guys and QLD are the best at planning for the future... VIC and NSW roads are stuck in like 30 years ago. Esp syd. those roads are horrific

i blame it on the recent tremors we had! :D

  8. hey everyone i know this has been coverd before and ive read the topics about it but i cant seem to find the antenna with base on ebay, can anyone point me in the right direction.. cheers

    first what happened?

for me, i just super glued the antenna back on... the base it was actually just split and the female part of the screw flew out attached to the stick of the antenna... <_<

another place is the wreckers, u can get both top and bottom for like 30 bucks.

  10. after research i have came up with this order of preference also depending on how tight i am on money

    1. RE001'S

    2. T1R'S

    3. FEDERAL EVO'S

i'm guessing the re001's are the most expensive? i haven't looked at the others... but the yokohamas are liek 200 bucks each i'm like screw that. He recommended the re001s and he said he'd do it for me for 165ea...

btw SD, pumped up my tyres to 40psi, and like WOW, the handling is so much better and in lift feels faster too? even my wife thinks it handles better too (although abit stiff hehe) :D

  11. So i have an 03 sportivo who has seen some road, it has 113000km on the clock and never had ONE thing wrong. Serviced every 10,000 by toyota. I have some gutter rash on my side skirts :( and at the front. The car has been lowered on king springs and somtimes scrubs out. It has now been lifted a bit higher and i want to clean her up a little. Am i able to sand back the skirts and repaint myself? It is only slight damage.

Also i have someone dint my car once with a trolly and the other someone made a dint above my drivers side front wheel. Both of these people left no note and smash repairs want $980 to fix them and the other day my aerial was gone. I need to cut a break.

I am so ****** off, i have always looked after my car apart from the very sligt gutter rashes. I wash her once a weeks and detail her right up but i am over looking at her like a piece of ****, do you think i should fix her up, i have so many things i have to pay for but??

dude, mines lowered on super lows and scrubs like anyone's business. I even get the occasional "BANG" which breaks my heart as I go over humps i didn't see. not to mention the time i got scratched by another car while doing charity work! i gotten over it though LOL

sorry, to answer your question, depends on you. if you can't stand it looking at it with the scratches, then yeah go for your life. but knowing its a daily and u WILL scratch it again, and the occasional shopping trolley and door bash. u can't help it mate.

IMO, i wouldn't repair it UNLESS its really bad and its affected the metal panels. I'm talking about deformed panels and not the small dents and stuff. I couldn't care less about the fiber glass unless its really messed up :)

  12. your tyres will not pop. 40psi is fine in any street tyre....it prolongs the life if it. can lead to it being a litlle slipery in the wet though :P

Contrary to popular opinion higher pressure actually gives more grip in the wet as it prevents the channels from narrowing as the tyre loads up :whistling:

Plus it reduces rolling resistance and improves fuel economy.

Tyres will have a max pressure on them somewhere, even then there is a factor of safety involved anyway.

yeah i thought it was 40 psi and it says on the tyre if i;m correct...

  13. nice, what pressure would u recommend? i currently run my fronts on 35psi and my rears on 34psi

I run 40 psi all round.

whoa, can u carry a moderate load on that without the tires popping SD? I would imagine its a daily like me as i go to work and do deliveries and stuff (fish n chip deliveries that is :P)
