  1. hmm. I think performance wise, the new rolla will be a dissapointment again... :( http://www.carpoint.com.au/news/2012/small-passenger/toyota/corolla/aims-familiar-engine-but-new-cvt-for-corolla-32141 103kw. At least it'll be lighter i suppose.
  2. Does anybody know much about Toyota's "Super CVT-i"? Apparently it's the CVT that's in the current Auris/corolla. I read somewhere that it differs to a standard CVT in that when driven "hard", the transmission shifts in between ratios in steps and so mimicking a regular torque converter. Is that true? Apparently also, under sedate driving it behaves like a regular cvt. It sounds like the best of both worlds to me!
  3. Wow it sure is shaping up to be quite nice. Especially in that bronzeish/metalic brown colour! I hope there is enough grunt to match the looks (as well as a stubby short antenna instead of the long RC look one). Rumours of a an updated version of the zr (probably just the 2ZR-FAE valvematic version the JDM auris got for the current gen) doesn't sound too good though. I can barely go anywhere on the freeway with a car full of ppl in my 100kw 1ZZE-FE as it is. Please oh please toyota drop a 2AR-FE or the 1.6L supercharged petrol engine in it!
  4. Is it just me or does the new hyundai i30 jump the gun on the Auris rear? um i dunno how to upload an image...but you'll know what i'm talking about when you see a picture of the two side by side...
  5. I dont think we will get a CVT...the cvt is already in the JDM corolla hatch in the current gen but we still get the 4 speed. Not to mention the torsion beam whilst other markets get the independant rear suspension. I read somewhere that people in charge of toyota here are not too happy of the drivability or something with a CVT. Hence no CVT in our Yaris despite it being in the japanese one. I sure hope we do get something other than the 2ZR-FE or even the 2ZR-FAE...it feels like that the market has moved on a little. A 3ZR-FAE would be sweet for the Levin though...or the supercharged 1.6 in the TRD model in South Africa but i'm hoping for too much i think...
  6. was a little worried at first with the axio/fielder interior. This one is much nicer. It looks like a tarago front to me. hehe
  7. I sure hope we get the supercharged 1.6L from that TRD model in south africa when it gets here in either the levin or "sportivo"...it'll make sense right? Roughly the same power as the mazda sp25 but less than the camry...
  8. It looks like the european avensis to me...a stubby chubby one. I like!

    2012 Camry

Hello. Not that i'm dissing Aussie made stuff...but would there be a difference in future trade in between a japanese engine'd camry to an australian built one?

    2012 Camry

Hello again. Would anyone know how much the option pack would cost? Along with the footwell blue lights? they look so cool. hehe. Btw...am I allowed to ask questions like this here? Or do they belong somewhere else...

    2012 Camry

Oh I'm loving it! I am a little dissapointed with the colour choices though...be nice to have that nice white on the SX...speaking of which. For the salespeople in this forum, is the SX available with a moonroof option? It doesn't seem to show that anywhere. I am so excited about this car! I'm going to save very hard now indeed! Can't believe I wanted a Kizashi earlier in the year...
  12. I hope that instrument cluster is for the base model here and not the Atara's...it wld be nice to have the two little blue LCD screens and not the old school black on green one...Not actually important i suppose but just nice to have...

    2012 Camry

Sorry people who look after this forum...i know this kinda belongs to the "aurion" section but it's kinda still camry...albiet not australian. So here is a picture of the "grand" camry or the one the japanese and mainland china and probably south east asia most others will get. Personally i find it a step back from the current aurion except for the interior (which is almost identical to the us camry except with a lot more faux wood). It looks like the love child of an accord and pre facelift 6th gen camry...The back looks nice though. I got these two from www.caradvice.com.au. Sorry if i doubled up moderators! IMHO, bring on the US camry (although the LE and XLE look a little typical american awkward and not quite different enough from the hybrid) and the Atara!

    2012 Camry

Ooooo i love it I love it! The regular american models' seems to have quite the large underbite though...and i hope the atara model starts mid 30s with sportivo suspension...coz i'm loving it!!! The american interiors look so solid now! Unlike the previous generation where it looked just "nice" but plastic like. It still is plastic but it's like comparing say a mont blanc to a parker...Also hope the sportivo model will have the dual exhaust and the blinkies on the mirrors and paddles like the atara! Such a cool name atara!!! And i hope we get that new entertainment system! (although i doubt that...we never get any tech here until later) Ahh sorry i'm just on a real big high atm. Here is a pic of the american range. Oh i forgot where (sorry not that helpful i know) but i remember reading about 18inchers on the sportivo. Sorry for the clutter

    which one

Wow thanks so much. You have completely talked me out of it now. hehe. I can't remember where but i read that that there will be the new camry on show at the ny autoshow at the end of the month so I guess I will wait for a squiz first. Hopefully it doesn't get any larger...the current camry in my humble opinion is quite large already... btw...did you end up test driving a maxima? If so, what is the drive like compared to the camry?

    which one

Hello everybody. Sorry i'm a little ignorant so please forgive me if i don't participate in the other topics...and if this topic has been covered before. But i'm looking at getting a new car since my dad's car is literally running on 3 cylinders and so i will sell him mine and get a new one...not quite rich enough to give him my old car unfortunately... What do people think of the Suzuki Kizashi? Anybody driven a CVT? Or should I wait until the next generation camry sportivo and hope that his car doesn't die before then? I really do love toyotas but the kizashi is so intrigueing and looks so good and reviews have been good too...how is reliability compared to that of a camry?
  18. Relative? Well my mum owns an echo with a bung stock cd player and there's 2 camry's and another corolla in the extended family...that what you're asking? Anyway please to meet you. hehe.
  19. Hello. I'm a current owner of an 05 corolla accent sport. I've actually been a member for a relative while now but I've always been wary of posting in forums so please forgive me for not introducing myself. I like my cars stock and would very much hope that the blade makes it to australia and that the lexus CT will have a regular petrol engine one day rather than being a hybrid exclusive (can't stand cars without a tachometer sorry). Other than that it's really good to be able to find a place in the cyberworld where people are so friendly! Also it's good to be able to read positive well informed comments about my beloved brand (bit too much?) rather than ignorant and hateful banter.
