  1. get it installed today by a mechanic in less than 1 hour..

I have installed the weaponr header 2 days ago, the feeling can be felt after battery reconnection

Now, with the pulley, the result is mind-blowing,3-5kw can be felt straight away in all rpm

My driving style is driving at <3k RPM in most times, and only hit the red twice a day, because after work, I want to relax to go home..

It is very obvious there is performance gain and I can feel it straight away in any rpm, even below 3k rpm.

For header change, I cannot feel anything below 3krpm, with pulley, I can feel the torque, espesically when I do my slow start in traffic jam, I do not have to hit the pedal hard.. it is very obvious effect, i gurantee everyone can feel it

For horsepower gain, please refer to

    http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=18780

http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21742 (Look at the curve, it is gaining all over the rpm range, that boost low rpm power)

    http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10837

Another great thing is shifting gear is more smooth, I have one strange driving style when I am not pushing, I change gear slowly, even sometimes the guy behind me found me annoying.. Now the rpm holds more, so even I change gear slowly, the rpm can stay for a while, the car is less jerky.

(because I dun know how to drive before, that's why I am jerky,I got female friends complaining about me being driving jerky, because I change gear slowly)

The throttle response is very good, because the engine get less weight to rotate

Above 3k RPM, OMG, mind blowing power when combining with header

My fuel consumption so far is reduced from 6.9L/100km to 6.6L/100km during these two days in suburban driving.

The only worry about the car so far is the relaibility of the header, header gasket and pulley, but since I dun push that hard, should not be a problem for me

I have saw a cracked pulley in youtube before, but having said that, most people in Yaris 1.8 TS found the pulley is good...

  2. You mean you have never hit the rev limiter?!

The engine pulls well and doesn't really drop off that much at 6500, i think it could easily go to 7500 but probably not much more untill we know more on how the internals will hold up.

I think im one of the very few that actually drive the ZRE's hard.... :whistling:

Below 3000, no you wont fell anything. let me know how you go with the pulley Ben.

I reach the rev limiter on average twice a day.

After resetting the ECU, i can feel the power. at low rpm, i can feel the torque now

As you know, paying me ***** to reconnect the battery-->have to turned alarm off, and have to call the dealer for audio security code

  3. That's nothing to do with your alarm. It needs the security pin for your headunit itself, should be in the headunit owners manual. Follow the instructions in the manual. It's designed to thwart would-be stereo theives.

Thanks. There is no serial number at the menu or some other documents, need to call up dealer..

so I guess everyone call them after battery reconnection !!

Update: After calling the dealer, they tell me the number..

it is different for each dealer

  4. I have an alarm installed from Motorone, which comes from XPack when I purchase the car in Toyota

    1. First I used my alarm key to turn the siron at the back of the engine bay to turned off the siron

2 I disconnect the negative terminal of the battery

    3. After reconnecting the battery for 10 minutes wait for the ECU reset

    4. Turn the siron back on

    5. Start the car, and the audio system said "SEC", whatever button you pressed, no response

The alarm is working normally, there are beep sounds, it locks up itself after 30 seconds, what went wrong?

This is annoying, that means I dun have audio after changing the battery few years later

correct if i'm wrong but usually its the last 4 digits of your serial number. this can be found on the sticker that you get from the RTA. if not, it should be in ur service book or owners manual

I have that number, but it is called something like "Pin overide" to disable the alarm, I want to renable the alarm, not disable it.. I have the alarm key, so...

Research in the internet gave me not much info, this is very frustrating

  5. I have an alarm installed from Motorone, which comes from XPack when I purchase the car in Toyota

  6. Im still surprised that no one can feel the difference. Its not huge, but the engine does rev much more free at the top end, and the power curve is extended by at least 500-700rpm. Now i could safely say that it would be better with a 7500rpm cut out. I also feel that the decel is smoother and it doesnt "hold" revs as bad as it used to.. Surely im not trippin?? No difference under 4500 is noticeable. Its all top end. Guys? :help: Im not finally losing it am i???

Sorry, what do u mean by it would be better with a 7500rpm cut out? the factory red zone is 6200rpm, u mean we can push over it?

I can tell you, I can feel a big difference between a full tank and an almost empty tank. After a full tank few days ago, I have no mood to push the car.. I am expecting changing the header will have bigger effect than the CAI

Have you restarted the ECU by disconnecting negative of the battery for 10 minutes..

(I just realised that I need to turn the alarm off in order to disconnect the battery)

My driving habit is driving at below 3k RPM most of the time to save petrol, so that's why I cannot feel it..

After I installed my CAI, my car can drive at 60km/h at 6th gear in a little steep road.. That's my benchmark of measuring, before, I cannot... (Dun laugh at me,I know I got a strange driving style)

I have ordered the NST pulley as well, and will put it on next week... (I dunno what I am doing, still want to gamble on the reliability of my car)

May be my fuel consumption can tell, I save 10% of fuel after putting CAI on...may be another 5% after header, I dun know !!!

  7. I received my header, it is a registered post, turned out that the parcel is sitting in the post office for ages.. The delivery address is just located at the opposite side of the post office.. How funny is it? This is Australian postage !!!

Anyways, I installed my header today, took 2.5 hours, since the header is too hot, some time is wasted

I installed it in an exhaust specialist (Sydney Hi Tech Mufflers) who put my catback system before..

Their comments are quite negative about my header..

    1. They said the factory header is better

    2. They said my header will crack after one year because the original header has "something" to stop from cracking

They also asked me whether to replace the stainless steel cat convertor as well for $500. However, I say no (they try to convince me to install, and I said someone did an dyno test to remove the cat convertor and only saw 3hp gain)

The end result, to be honest, I feel nothing, but dutch101 said he felt 3-5kw increase, may be I have to wait for my ECU to get used to it...

If you compare the headers with the factory one before, there is not a big difference, the tube side is only a little bit larger and the factory ones is 4 to 1 instead of 4-2-1

Please refer to johnnieboi post for headers comparison. His pictures are much better to see. He cannot feel the power increase as well after installation

    http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=26792&st=75

I have done a research and i cannot find anyone complaining a cracking weaponR header so far..

    Anyways, here are the pictures

  8. I would like a turbo setup for $1200. what a bargain, but seriously, thats all it is. lol

End of the day, you gotta take into account also the downtime with having your car worked on. Do you have another car to use while the turbo setup is being installed? It may take a few months + whatever customisation needs to be done + any extra parts they need to source + tuning and getting the right setup. Might not be a simple job. At the end of the day, it could end up costing you a lot. Workshops charge you labour on everything, and it really ends up destroying your wallet.

There is a thread here regarding a turbo update ,please search

Here is one turbo kit from Phillipines, for Toyota Corolla Altis, this car is popular to modify there

    http://www.speedlab.com.ph/turbokits.php

  9. Anyone successfully connect Nokia phone to the car bluetooth system?

I have followed the menu and cannot get it worked out? Some people in other forum said Nokia has some issues with bluetooth..

Anyone can point me in the right direction? I am quite new to these stuff

I want to talk in the phone just by shouting out, there must be some sort of sound receiving device in the car

I am suprised that my Ascent version got bluetooth as well !!! considering I have power windows at the back

  10. I should also note on this thread, that Eibach/OEM combo is now replaced with Pedders Coil overs. Check my rides thread for more info...

I have peddars coilover as well, do you think we need sway bars?

I am pretty happy with the peddars coilover already..

What settings do you use for peddars? I use front 8 rear 10..

Since street driving has slow speeds,it is pointless to set them too hard..

Before, I set front 15 and rear 10, but has really bad understeer at front wheels, now with front 8 rear 10, the balance is just right

If I have ever has a chance to go to Eastern creek, I might set a lot more harder for both of the front and rear...

  11. Thanks to Jesse, hardly on this forum but always does his research! :toast:

Ben, bummer about you not getting it yet, when did you order them? The same time as Dutchie?

yes, same date on 20 oct.. i spoke to ATC, and they have it insured and send to me again..I will ask for tracking number this time

Hope to get it next week!!!

P.S...I occassionally heard courier stuff up in Sydney.. my friend is a fashion wholesaler and have issues with courier all the time, no matter it is international or local

Very happy to c the header is a simple bolt on from dutchie

  12. Thanks Johnnie but i think Ben originally posted the link, still, Im happy to guinea pig tho :D

I am still waiting for the header, think the courier lost the parcel, so sad.... ATC did not have the tracking number of the parcel

have to negotiate with atc with another one if I cannot see it within weeks

I post it to my office in CBD in sydney, not sure why it get lost !!!

I dun know what the australian post is doing !!

    so sad

  13. Thanks for all the well wishes :) Really looking forward to getting this. The first brand new car I've ever bought.

I'm quite tempted to buy some 17" alloys straight away. I've seen the other thread with mods and wheels, and rollas definitely look hot with the right set of wheels. The trick is getting them on _before_ my wife sees the car LOL. There'd be too many "how much did _they_ cost" if I changed the wheels later. I've got a couple of weeks to look around so might check out some of the wheel shops around town.

Keeping your wife happy is another business !! Not many people like "hot" rollas, especially female

Regarding the menu, someone has uploaded a a japanaese version auris menu here, i dun think u find it useful

  14. Just let u know I at the back of the car menu (jap version), it said

0w-20 is for new car because it is good for fuel economy

The higher the second number (in this case, 20), means the higher speed and higher workload that it is suitable

Not sure if the english version say this

  15. TOYOTA ALTIS Sportivo 2010

Sorry to be honest, but not a fan.

Seems like they have a whole range of TRD Sportivo parts on the car, but none that really compliment the car. Makes it look really kitted out, overtop almost. Seems like thats the tuning style of some overseas modifiers though.

It is a limited edition of trd sportivo in Thailand, only 2000 are produced. You can refer to another post in the forum here http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=26199

Thailand, Phliipines and Taiwan treat Corolla Atlis crazy. They have paddle shift, CVT, aftermarket turbo, car racing such as

Their culture of car modification is more crazy

  16. For those who might be interested, Toyota Japan have uploaded PDF versions of the Owners Manual of the current model range on their website. I don't think there is an english version avaliable but they have similar graphics and illustrations to the ones supplied with Corollas sold here. An interesting browse if you want to compare the equipment functions, layouts and illustrations.

  17. thanks pete, i dont think my sister will want to bring headers over, i'll keep my eyes opened though and see if anything pops up

    http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=27724

dutchie101 and me are getting the headers from America, should be arrived next week..

Also, Yaris TS is using the same engine 1.8

Also, Scion XD is using the same engine

Check also Malaysian Corolla forum as well

  18. post-54-12874765341_thumb.png...thanks again for that, and yes it used to be a neat system ( the Morris Minor used it..!)

but the spin off filter has always been a no brainer to use, and having worked in the industry for way too long (years ago),

I know how easy it is to NOT change the filter (just clean the outside) and that's $20 profit on every job, and you'd never EVER know it hadn't been changed...dont laugh, this was a very common occurence.

With this ZRE154 system you'd never be able to check if the filter'd been changed ( I used to UV mark my old spin-offs).

Ben, thanks for the link, it does indeed confirm the paper insert theory to be correct...

Just also let u know that when I bring this filter to the local mechanic, he asked me "Are you sure you bought the correct oil filter". I replied "Yes, there are instructions inside the filter, just follow it"

You can ask the local mechanic to keep the dirty paper filter so that you know it has been changed. That mechanic reaction told me that he did not c this kind of oil filter before

For your reference, below is the Zre-151 oil filter

    http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_G_2007_TOYOTA_COROLLA_ZRE151L-GEMNKC_1502.html

You can also see the other parts of the vehicle in this link

  19. Thanks for your help guys...but now I'm a bit confused..

I'm sort of understanding that the '10 ZRE's have a spin-off canister, inside of which is a replaceable paper filter element ??

..do I then just spin off the canister, pull out the dirty paper element, clean the canister, put in the new paper filter and spin it back on..??

..the pommy cars in the 60s used that system .!!

    ...just wondering

    The picture is as follows

    http://www.megazip.ru/ru/auto/toyota/view/399/3559/38369/355939#g355750

I think there are instructions at the back of the box, if u dun know, ask the guy who sold the part to you.. You cannot get aftermarket oil filter for this model at the moment

  20. they shouldve made rear power windows standard 5 years ago

Volkswagen Polo comes at $27k with 1.4 twin charging and 132kw, with a fuel economy of 5.9L/100km,, that will blew many competitors away..

If I buy a car now, I would not have bought my current Corolla half years ago with no rear power windows and moon roof!

They must lost so many sales because lacking of these bloody features..

They better import the valvematic engine to gain the market pace within the coming two years, that 1.8 engine saves 10% of fuel and increase 10% of power
