on/off switch for the ccfl angel eyes :)

finally got around to getting these installed :)
Quick question for those who have had these installed, Auto-electrician didn't seal up holes where wires were coming out, did anyone else leave these as is or did you seal them up with say cut up foam or some other waterproof material?
Also, lo-beam pattern, its not the same as stock, I'll assume its an attribute of the design of the lights, definitely need to adjust them.
In other news
19x9.5 +42mm rims w/ 235/35 tyres fit :)
Wheels rotate, but the rim is really close to the struts, but they fit
Hopefully on the car by the weekend, just waiting on tyres from east, need 93 load rating :)

Hey guys
That's actually more clearence than I was thinking there would be :) I think the 235's would easily fit up, 245's might even also clear (just might have issues with scrubbing the guards which you probably would have anyway running 9.5s on the front)
You have to remember that once the wheels are bolted to the hub, the clearance between the wheel/tyre and the strut wont change, if at all it will just be tyre flex when you pushing through corners. But with stretched tyres theres very little of that anyway
I was surprised too, that's a little more than 2 mm clearance surely. This Saturday, booked in to do a test fit on 235/35r19's, fingers crossed it turns out well. Been yes and no and yes and no regarding fitment, this will bring closure and help me decide what to do next with the rims. Rims stick out of the guard by like <10mm, and that's not compressed or any camber.
When i was installing the coilovers in my car, i was playing around with the alignment of the wheels. Loosening the 2 bolts that hold the coilover to the hub, u cant push the top of the hub in and pull the bottom of the hub out to get some negative camber. Or you cud pull the top of the hub out and push the bottom of the hub in to make it postive, in your case to get more clearance. However u mite require another wheel alignment after wards.
If Saturday goes well, will be asking pedders to do fronts -1 or -2, and get some rear camber bolts -1.5 camber, got quoted $170
Not game enough to do it myself lol... but thanks for the info

had a chance to see for myself

I was thinking 235/35s?

Advice welcome :)

On BC Racing 'BR' Coilovers
Current clearance with 20x8.5 and 245/30

-
I went and got my 105,000km service
I was quoted $400 or so, few weeks beforehand
On the day of service, charge was $1299
4 extra jobs like throttle body clean, air con service... forgot the rest as I don't have the invoice with me
-
Are you running standard struts still (with lowered springs id imagine)? or have you moved to the coilovers?
Because I'm running 19x9.5" on the back of mine in +45 offset with 245/35 profile tyres, have no issues with hitting the struts or scrubbing (even with a carload)
19x8.5 on the fronts in +40 offset with 235/35 profile tyres, again no issues.
Just some food for thought :)
Hey
thanks for the input every perspective helps
I figured, try sell them first, then if I can't try get the people who sold them to me to try fit them, if they can't and don't offer a refund or replacement then onto consumer protection.
Yeah moved onto coils :)
The rears are fine, just the fronts :(
19x9.5 +42 all around, was trying to keep the concavity uniform
I know +40mm works, just not gonna go all the way just yet based on a few enquiries with other tyre shops
-
Just had the coils installed last week
So only experience for me was having 3 girls 50-60kg each in the back, plus me and passenger in the car, didn't scrub driving normally
I took corners normal and slow on bumps, didn't encounter any scrubs on this occasion
But I reckon I would scrub with a heavier load in the back

You could try justjap imports, they did mine when I purchased a set of bc coils
8kg fronts and 4.5kg rears
Was on 8 clicks when installed, pretty stiff LOL
had to put it to 12 clicks, which made it feel like pedders lowering springs
Im on 20s with about 2inches between guard and rim
No scrubs yet...
Hope this helps a little.

Hope they sell qik and it all works out well for you mate, dam sexy rim!
Thanks mate, lesson learnt
In the flesh, even on the fpv f6 they were
-
Went and met with a buyer, FPV FG F6, he needed 15mm spacers for the fronts to fit lol
So no sale there :(
Was so close to calling up the wheel shop and get another order in
BBBaaaaaaaahhhhhhh
Its sad and frustrating
-
Yeah unfortunately
Trying to sell them so I can get the +38mm offset
Currently these are +42mm, too close to struts for my liking
I wont use spacers, or skinnier tyres than 235/35
Been advised not to fit them as the tyres will rub
If i do 3mm spacers, then for peace of mind I want to upgrade wheel studs to stronger ones
3mm spacers, hubcentric 5x114.3 60.1 set of 4 = $70-$80
ARP wheel studs = $190
So extra $$$ to spend, a student as well so budget for modifying is tight
That and future problems with Insurance
So in conclusion trying to sell them first lol
Then get another set, seen too many aurions with the equus geneva rims, need a change haha
-
Hey guys, just wondering if the following
Would fit a 2008 Aurion zr6
Anyone with the know how? Because I have no idea
Regards
Juan

Spotted Red aurion sportivo, series 1, 19inch Equus Geneva rims, Angel eyes today at around 2:30ish driving on Beachboro rd north
Anyone here?
Angel eyes looking goooooood
-
wow....is 450 with or without a full wheel alignment??
my mate and i put in coilovers at home, ima student so yeh...saving up every lil bit counts
$132 for wheel alignment and $318 for labor, inc GST
8kg, 4.5kg riding harsh atm, may need to adjust dampening to my taste
Says on the manual its 8 clicks from factory
but the handling is awesome
Student here as well, but trying to get as many mods done these last 6 months of this year, before getting into an apprenticeship and start saving for a house

mechanic mate said its ok, BUTTTT as long as the rim don't hit the coils when turning the wheel, full lock
I don't really want to run spacers, 3mm spacers to be exact
So might have to run down to a tyre shop and do another test fitment
I just want the rims on the car lol been waiting since April
-
sorry to hijack ****tywok
Thought this would be within the scope of your questions as well,
So Pedders Perth, Midland did an extra service for me when getting coils installed
They did a test fitment of the new rims 19x9.5 +42mm (Machined down 4mm by Ozzytyres, originally +38mm), no tyres just the rims
What Pedders found was the rears are OK, However Fronts only have a 2-3mm clearance between rim and coils :(
Now my question is is 2-3mm enough? I've read a few other threads on the net, majority of the opinions is a no no on 2-3mm
Called up Epic tyres aka Ozzy tyres where I bought the rims, they suggested spacers or skinner tyres, then the lady receptionist directs me to a guy at the back, he goes on about "what is my query blah blah they fit big wheels to hsv's and the clearance is paper thin, then he asks have I got the answers I was looking for, Says have a good day, bye" and hangs up...
On the upside Coils fitted, Rides about the same as springs but better, most likely due to having 20s
But the handling already feels alot better than the springs, going around a corner already is noticeable controlled
Fantastic mod

Hey guys, anyone have any experience with changing these. I am trying to see if you can get Blue ones but can only find the bright white whole assembly or that cracked out flashing epileptic ones. Any clues?
Also just bought the Angel eye set up from mars, again anyone have any experience putting to stuff together. hope it was worth the cash........
Hi Bangtown
I have purchased the Angel eyes from Crazy the god for my 2008 zr6, which is similar to the Mars one, all from Taiwan...
Anyways you will need custom wiring done, it is not plug and play
I have to get an auto-electrician ($200) to get mine in
Biggest problem I had was the bulb size
I had to order in D4S HID conversion kit, as my H11 HID conversion did not fit properly
The H11 halogens did not fit for me also

Got a message back from a rep from Avant garde US, he said max that could be machined off is 3mm... :S
Anyways got this in the mail friday arvo :) booked it in tuesday morning at pedders, $450
I'll bring 1 rim, and do a test fitment and see how it goes

Fuarrrr haha looks sickk the wheels.
Depends how low you're going too , with tyre choice as well.
Do you have Facebook?
Thanks mate, you've helped me, appreciate it
Currently on 20s, pedders springs, I think Ill keep it same height and see how she goes, Ill lower it bit by bit until im satisfied, but will definitely keep it to a legal height and able to carrry rear passengers without scrubbing too much
Yeah, but I think its on private pm me ill add ya
oh well worse case senario you can get spacers ^_^
HURRY AND GET THEM ON THE CAR!!! I WANNA SEE
2mm spacers would suffice, but do not really want to go down that path lol
Need justjap imports to hurry lol, only thing stopping me is the coils have not arrived yet :(
Who machined them?
the wheel makers? or a tyre/mag wheel outlet.
I mean as long as they are prepared to cover war etc and they are the fit you want? i'd be ok with it.
They do look sexy :D
Ozzytyres, here in perth the franchisee calls his shop epic tyres, but I think it was done over east before they sent it to perth, but not 100% sure if it was ozzytyres
I should ask them that thanks defyant :)
I know +40mm fits for sure, but its cutting it close so I don't know until fitment what the extra 2mm in will do
Awaiting on emails from AVANT GARDE AUS and US if machining the hubs down is safe
updates and pics within 2 weeks I hope

nice ride bro, didnt know there was such a scene for modding aurions, they look great
Haha thanks mate, mods are piling up for me though, less time less money since I'm back at school again
-
Great find linhvo, excited for ya as well :D
So today picked up my rims
Happy with the choice, only concern is the offset and how it was achieved, pics attached of results
So I ordered 4x Avant Garde M550, 19x9.5 +38mm
I have been communicating with a camry owner in the US exact same rims, except +40mm offset, only mods were BC racing coilovers and Camber -2 Front and -1.5 Rear.
Today I picked up 4x rims 19x9.5... all good there, however they machined off the inner hub of 4mm!!!!
So now the offset is +42mm!!!! reason being so it ''suits/fits'' my vehicle...
awaiting reply from avant garde themselves, if the integrity of the wheels are compromised or not, I have read mixed reviews of machining rims to change offsets.
I must of misunderstood the sales lady or she did not explain it clearly, as I took it as at +38mm if the rims did not fit into the guards, then they would machine the rim to a higher offset. In my gut I knew +38mm would be fine and would have declined the machining, just did not snap that they may machine it straight away...
happy :) and worried :( at the same time, see how things go the coming weeks

Thanks :)
Crazy the God ones,
Yep, that's what I already miss from the factory headlights, being able to see at night more than 4 or so metres lol
I opted out from their HID kit
problem was bought a new D4S HID Conversion kit, bulbs F****D up on me after 2 start ups
Had to remove bumper to change the bulbs, I actually broke one into 2 pieces
I had to modify my old H11 HID bulbs to fit, as I use the car nightly going home
I like them, just very very very poorly designed
Yeah, was thinking today time to get a decent HID kit from Phillips whatever the cost, I don't really wanna going through the process of removing my bumper every time a crappy bulb burns out...
I should put up a photo of the headlights at night, because I asked for RHD, must be just a thing they mention to get you to think they have some made for AUS when really its not the case...
Appreciate the info as always :)
