  1. exactly what i wanted to hear. can u throw a link me way or tell me where im able to purchase one? :D
  2. Hey all :) ok so heres my situation. I treated myself to a jvc kw-xr616 for christmas (just in case anyone doesnt know --> http://www.jvc-australia.com/JVC/client/c_products_details.jsp?catID=27&prodID=600 )and i installed it yesterday but ive got a problem. I've installed it fine and it works a treat but (sorry for my lack of big words) the plastic air-con bracket..thingy haha that has to be removed to gain access to the double din slot? i cannot reinstall that WHILE the shroud is on the jvc. thus leaving dirty big holes down the side of my head unit and it isnt all that pleasing on the eyes. i've included pictures and the dimensions of the shroud :) ive looked at it for a while and figured that with the air-con bracket the jvc head unit is flush horizontally, just not vertically :( sorry if this is confusing but hopefully the pictures make up for my lack of explaining skills :) surely someone has encountered this problem before. any feedback would be great :) maybe i should just put some black cardboard down the sides? :P Dixon

    03 Corolla

oh for real? well i still didnt like the 04 haha, something about the 03 that got my attention. And another thing gentlemen, I have another post up but nobody has replied yet so perhaps you could help me out. Is there a double din header compatibility chart i can refer to for buying new header? because I need to know if the plugs need changing or its a simple plug and play :) thanks for comments guys :D only difference i can think of other than parts is price There's no compatibility chart... i've seen people measure and buy watever brand they like... and then buy spacers to fill the sidegaps. check in the DIY sections.. some people have posted what they've done. for the plugs it depends what you buy... yeah i found out today from the local *cough cough* friendly *cough cough* boys at autobarn that i need to buy a toyota plug kit as well as a jvc plug kit as well as a new bracket or faceplate for my car model...or something :/. was not impressed when he told me i need to pay for 60 dollars worth of extra equipment on top of the header itself <_<
  6. really? why hasn't the HU cavity dimensions been standardized for all HU's to fit into?

    03 Corolla

Hi guys :) joined the ownersclub today and thought i'd show u guys my pride and joy! (first car btw) was either the 04 corolla or 03 sportivo but i dont really like what they've done to the 04 model, such a shame because it had mp3! tell me what you think :) buying a double din header and (saving haha) for XHP Deuce machined rims because in the long run its cheaper to upgrade to a standardized wheel size than the sportivo's inbetween wheel size which is bloody expensive in south east qld :/
  9. Hey guys, first time poster :) I currently have an 03 Corolla Sportivo with stock head unit still installed. I want to upgrade to a double din unit with usb/mp3 etc. Max would be 400 dollars but i found the JVC KW-XR416 for $250 and its got all i need :) --> http://www.jvc-australia.com/JVC/client/c_products_details.jsp?catID=27&prodID=599 so my question is would this unit be compatible with the corolla as in "plug and play" or would i need to customize the cables in order for it to work? any feedback would be greatly appreciated! :) Dixon
