  1. Finally, I could not put up with the problem any longer. I decided to get the alignment issue fixed and went to Tyres and More at Silverwater. I'm happy to say things went very well and the boys there were extremely helpful with putting in the kit and getting the alignment right.
  2. This is not silly at all, I remember 15 years ago with my new Camry. I ended up calling NRMA. When the guy explained to me what had happened, I blushed. I turned the engine off while it was in D.
  3. It does pair without any issue at least with one phone that I know of. The guy at the service counter owns the new HTC and he demonstrated to me that his phone will work correctly. Obviously in the beginning he tried to put the blame on my phone, but when I started making a bit of noise he then backed down and said he never accused me of such thing. He told me to update the software on my phone, which he meant to be the FW, but my Nokia said it already has the latest one installed. I'll update on the progress with this matter, see whether Toyota is going to look after their customer or not. Funny how dealers like to assume and treat their customers like a bunch of morons before finally caving in and admitting he has a pile of paperwork half an inch thick with this issue. That is just with one dealership, since the same head unit also installed on the Yaris and you know how many Yaris Toyota sells each month. I also learn the head office has actually issue a memo to their service dept about this problem, what it entails though I have no idea.
  4. Looks like Toyota is ignoring me with this problem I'm having. I have one of the latest head unit from Toyota and is not pairing properly with my Nokia phone. Apparently it is a known issue and widespread. The dealer told me that Toyota don't want to know about it and it'll be up to the discretion of Fujitsu. I find this to be very strange and disturbing since my Nokia don't have a problem with any other bluetooth devices such as the multiple portable handsfree that I am currently using on different cars and why should Toyota pass this problem to Fujitsu, didn't they are the one who sold the car with the problem in the first place?
  5. You know, funny when I took my car to a dealer for an oil change today they weren't interested even though it's done 10600kms. They said to bring it back after 15000kms
  6. I know exactly what you mean and I didn't want to either but I didn't have a choice .
  7. Ok it works to a certain extent. I went inside the shopping centre and made the attempt to adjust the lights there. However, when I am making the adjustment it feels as the light beam shines lower, it converges, which mean it also requires the adjustment from side to side. Furthermore the high beam for the passenger side shines higher afterward. When I try to lower it to match the right one, the low beam on that side almost touches the ground At this stage I haven't touch the side adjustment yet since I haven't been able to figure out which screw does what. Definitely not a job for the faint hearted. At least now when I drive at night people won't be so annoyed anymore.
  8. Ah... thanks a lot for that information. Feeling a little frustrated since I had just discovered that the headlights is out of alignment and it is all because the springs factory that I went to did not know what the standard height was and took three goes before they came close and now I have to muck around with the headlights <_<. Might give it another go tonight. Cheers
  9. Does anyone know a good place in Sydney where you can get Autoglym? Cheers
  10. I need to adjust my lights too since it is aiming too high because of the change in the rear springs . I had a look at the one above and just throw my arms up in the air. I could just be able to see geared screw from the vision hole. Definitely more like socket than a screwdriver and facing from the inside for access which isn't easy to get to. Looks like the job for the service department, maybe they have the special tool required for turning the gear from the top.
  11. Can you please elaborate, as in the price or that it is not worth buying in the first place . I really don't know much apart from the claim made by Philips itself, not that it's going to make any different, since I already paid for the lights, but perhaps for future reference. Here is the link to the Philips bulbs: http://www.invisionsales.com/lighting/philips/headlight-upgrades PowerBulbs.com will do them for you @ almost half the price including shipping from the UK (which doesn't take too long either) Ah gee, thanks for that, I should have consulted the forum first. It was kind of spur of the moment, but at least it should be better than the original right?

  13. After upgrading the wheels a month ago and replaced rear springs with a set of heavy duty ones last week, today I decided to fit the white Philips globes for the low beam for a cool $95 Not as good as the HID but is the next best thing.
  14. I notice mine is rattling too when I turn as soon as the engine starts. Doesn't do it all the time. My Aurion is the 2010 model and a few times rattled quite badly. I think it could be related to the same issue. If I don't get it fixed can it do any damage to the engine over long term? BTW the car has only done 9000km.
  15. the 1-2% difference will only make 0.1L/100km of difference. 225/45R18 are hard to source, since the only car with that size as standard (from what i know) is the Mazda RX8. Since they aren't mass produced, they will have a higher price. 225/45R18 for KU27 i got quoted at $272. I will write up a review soon and post it in this Tyres/Reviews. Did you get the KU21 in 225/45R18 or 235/45R18? No, according to the trye calculator, it is a little more than that. http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCalculator.asp?action=submit 235/40 18 is out by almost 3.5%. Which means for every 100kms the odometer is showing, you've only travelled 96.5kms, compare to the standard rim size of 215/55 17 and in comparison the 225/45 18 is out by about 1.3%. I actually did some research before I decided to go with the 225/45 18s. At the time one of the Jax stores in Sydney had a set of the KU27 for $265 each. But I decided to save the $85 x4 and went for the KU31 instead. It took a week of getting use to the noise and it seems fine now. Although I'd like to get my hands on the KU39 for my next set.
  16. ROFL... too bad your in Tassie. I took mine to Allsprings in Liverpool Sydney. Just like you I didn't like the sag in the rear with the standard springs, so I have the firm heavy duty one made up. So far so good.
  17. Thanks for that. I was looking at getting these and tried very hard with little success. After ringing around I could only locate one store that has them. Anyways the difference was like $80 per tyre compare to the KU31. Not sure if it was worth the difference but I like the quieter ride claimed for the KU27. I also noticed that you are using the 235/40 profile rather than 235/45. Could this possibly be the difference in fuel economy you've been getting?
  18. You'll need 6 litres of oil in the Aurion
  19. My experience as a tinter, metallised film have very little effect on the radio especially the FM band. As DJkor stated, most likely the effect will be felt on the lower frequency band such as AM band and this varies between car manufacturers and depending on where the car happens to be used most of the time, eg around the city fringe or say within 30-40kms radius of the CBD. If people feels deterred because of this possible effect, they can always opt for dyed film. However for obvious reason generally dyed film is inferior to metallised film eg for heat absorption/reflection and fading. So it is up to the individual on how they feel. We will soon be moving to digital radios and this effect will probably no longer apply in the near future.
  20. Nah, I completely don't agree, the only way Toyota will listen to the people if we keep voicing our opinion about the constant lack of care attitude by their dealerships. I run my own business and rely on my car to being able to earn money. The last thing I need is to keep going back to the same dealer time after time to rectify problems created by their own incompetent worker as was in my case. I ended up loosing thousand of dollars trading the car much earlier than I had planned because of this issue. If you stay silent, you are endorsing these dealerships to keep doing the wrong thing and it appears that is what you are advising.
  21. I used to be on the 17" with the stock Michelins. Everytime I wanted to make a turn after stopping it feels like the front wheels going to break the traction. Then I went +1 to a set of 18s with the 225. I find there's more grip. The trade off is you get a lot more noise.
  22. I thought the Aurions are meant to be driven not nursed along
  23. Hey robie, I believe you're more of an exception rather than the rule. I wish it is the other way around. In the past I have put too much trust with my ex Toyota dealer. After reading some of the poor service some of you has experienced, I'm beginning to doubt whether they've done half the things they were supposed to do with my ex Toyota. I've always wondered why for the first 32000 kms my fuel consumption has always been constant then right after the so called major service, I was getting like 10% less and this is after being pressured into getting the fuel injectors cleaned. That said, to the op, I believe integrity goes for the whole chain. From the manufacturer right down to the dealership and customer experience. If the manufacturer, in this case Toyota, unable to control quality through their own dealers, then I believe you should look elsewhere for your next purchase. It is the only way they'll listen. If you are one of the workers in the production line and it's not achieving the target who is likely going to get hammered, the workers or the manager? I have owned 5 brand new Toyotas in the last 12 years, including the one I'm using at the moment. A really bad experience with my previous Toyota is enough to make me want to stay away from the brand forever. In my book Toyota is walking on a thin line.
  24. Wheel Brand/Design: RJR Champ Wheel size: 18" Wheel width: 8" Wheel offset: +36 Tire size: 225/45 18 Kumho KU31 Suspension type: stock Touring Feedback: no prob with suspension, tyres are noisy compare to stock Michelins.
