  1. G'day everyone - I own a 96 wide-bodied Camry which has 200,000 behind it and suddenly my first problem struck! Rough idling, Blue Smoke and in General a very sick Motor Car. Took it to #1 Toyota dealer who promptly told me that the Motor needed a Overhaul - Cost $4,800 - second dealer said "New Motor Mate" - $10,000! Called a Mobile Mechanic - same story - overhaul motor $4,800. Not to be bluffed I systematically replaced the following - New Spark Plugs and leads, New Distributor Cover and Rotor buttons,New Coil and new air flow chamber - performance improved but still was terrible. Mobile Mechanic #2 advised that the rings and/or valves needed replacing - $6,000. Following a discussion with a friend of a friend I had the car completely diagnosed (should have done this first), and it indicated a problem with EU - this resulted in a purchase of an exchange ECU UNIT which is located under the dash on the passenger side - cost $275!!! I fitted the new unit myself and the car is totally different to drive - Superior Power, Smoother Gear Changes and fuel economy has changed dramatically and is being monitored, As I said there are some sharks out there as well as persons who don't know what they are talking about!

    even if you needed a new engine, those prices are absolutely spastic. a 5SFE or 3VZFE can be has for less than 300$ these days...

Use may think im lieing, ive raced alot of type r's between dc2 and 5 and once ive lost to a dc2 and i was stock he had a CAI and catback, but since ive gotten my CAI and headers not one type r has came close to me even ones with exact same modifications but what gives type r's the upper hands on sportivos is gear changing If you dont know how to change on a sportivo good ur pretty much screwed, because type r's u can flat change smoother then normal changing in sportivos...

    In my point of view i reacon the dc2 goes harder then the dc5, the dc2 shape has given me alot more of a challenge in races then the dc5 like on the m4 last thursday i had a load of 4 and a type r was alone and i ended up with a car length on top of him so imagine if i was alone.

    Edit: Mine due each one was 90-100 kilos

After looking thru the forums all morning every link with a actual guide is not working, anyone have a guide on doing it or even measurements, sick of being to paranoid to smack gears without wrecking my synchro's to many freinds of mine have all wrecked the cars and thank god mines still running great :D but yeh i would like to get the measurements or a guide so i can be able to change gears pretty quick and fast without being worried of blowing the box and picking its peices up on the road somewhere :help:

  4. Yeah i tryed a certain type of engine polish and it worked a bit just hard to get those little areas but ill upload a pic todayy.. :)

    And to the people that didnt understand me well i re-read it again today didnt understand my self either, I bought some type of heavy duty engine degreaster and i used it on my engine while it was still pretty hot just cleaning i clean my engine every 3 months or so and it was late after 5.30-6 so couldnt really see the side affects after openeing bonnet next day, and all the steel parts in the engine its like a white mark all over them, and ive used polish and it does remove it but was sseing if theres some type of spray to remove it to get all the little corners and bits i cant reach with my hands!

Your not the only one having a bad week, On the weekend things werent going fine i got a new exhaust system installed, half way driving home screws fall out of it they were never tightened, had to get the car towed back to exhaust place because was to loud and shaking car to much to drive, Tryed cleaning my engine accept i made it look like **** my engine cover broke, the middle compartment on centre console which im so fragile with i was showing a mate how to open and close it when he takes my car, and it broke as i was showing him...i dont knot what more is going to go wrong for me ! also

The other day i bought a heavy duty engine degreaser, washing my engine all was fine checked it the otherday and showing, over all the steel/metal parts like a white throthy colour? anyone know how to remove it i bought a diffrent type of degreaser from supercheap washed it and hosed it all down thought it would go but stayed the exact same anyone have ideas on taking it off makes the engine bay look chatt

  8. NSW Police Highway Patrol Cars were xr6 Turbos and Holden SS VE and a family member of mine bought an ex cop car xr6 Turbo Bigger breaks better suspension at nighttime you can still see the numbers on the car, Bt nowadays there mainly undercover FPV Typhoon which is unbevielably quick.
