  1. its official gents, we have been working with RDA for some rotors for the TRD aurions and here are the part numbers The RDA part numbers are: RDA8050 Front Solid RDA8050S Front Slotted RDA8050G Front Slotted, dimpled and gold passivated RDA8051 Rear Solid RDA8051S Rear Slotted RDA8051G Rear Slotted, dimpled and gold passivated so you will need to head to your local RDA distributor to source them. its a damn site cheaper alternative to the genuine toyota ones!!! yes its taken awhile, but i have to say, RDA moved on this very, very quickly in terms of me writing angry to the masses of brake distributors. they were the only ones that were able to offer a solution. Rear rotors are in stock and are ready to start shipping... DJKOR, if you want to start a new thread with the above part numbers, feel free.. to the TRD AURION Brethren, we have come through for you guys!!! and all it took was some clown from western australia to do it :)
  2. Full size photos sent.... doode.. we forgot to take the pics of the TRD's together.... doh!!! :( :(
  3. awesome pics BYW.. good to finally take stranger danger to a new level... can you email me those pics?? i'll get a ETA on the rear rotors once i have those pics.. DJKOR.. these are just a intermediate solution for us that needed then ASAP and did not want to pay the toyota prices... i am now MR cool with my son with the rotors on.. foooly sick maaaate.
  4. well.. an update... just got off the phone to BYW and our front rotors will be ready in a week with no redrilling required and no slots where the studs are either.. we have both opted to wait till the rears are ready... then get them done in one hit.... so, not having met BYW yet, once again, taking "stranger danger " to a new level... will post up pics once done... both byw and myself have been sworn to "secret TRD mens business" until the excercise has been completed. heading off to sydney to work for the next 2 weeks.. so not much will happen till i get back.
  5. ok... well, its been an interesting morning to say the least. I have had the head hauncho of RDA brakes contact me today.. cutting the story short.. there WILL be a solution in a few months of being able to buy rotors off the shelf for our cars...YAY.. short term, it will be a custom solution like what djkor is doing... speaking to "the man" himself @ RDA. he said being a aussie based company, there WILL be a solution and not like under vendors. time will tell.. i have rung BYW today.. I will get a call in about 3 - 4 weeks with hopefully something that can be shipped to us. He also has access to a TRD aurion which he has contacted the owner, so fitment will done on that one. (are there TRD owners who are not on forums??)
  6. okay guys.. in a moment of madness last night, i launched a angry email to RDA asking basically WTF?? (why the face?) not angry at RDA but at PBR in general for being well.. grrrrr  and wow.. i got a really good response from them.. i will be speaking to their special division friday afternoon who have been trying to get this sorted out for awhile...but have not been able to get a real car to measure up... any TRD aurion owners around victoria and around this address?? 34-36 Fiveways Boulevard Keysborough, VIC 3173 let me know.. DJKOR, that drawing has helped heaps for the front rotors... thanks once again...
  7. thank you sir hey, i went on riaccutane as well.. a few years ago... tub of vaseline was my best friend... will look into it thanks
  8. The rotors you need for the front to match the current callipers on the TRD need to have the following specs: A: Diameter: 325mm B: Height: 46mm C: Thickness: 32mm E: Centre Hole: 62mm F/G: PCD: 5 x 114.3 That's about all I can help you with really. I already have new rotors just about ready to be fitted. Just waiting for the re-drilling and the hub ring to be completed. RDA FTW! thanks djkor.. one more question.. actually a few more.. any chance you can provide the RDA part number that you have got there? man, thats alot of lip balm and medication you have around your keyboard?? (sorry man, i just noticed it and had a good laugh!!)) thanks heaps.. i'll give BYW a call friday and sort this stuff out!!! BYW, where are you?? still working eh???
  9. Haven't bothered taking them off to measure because I don't particularly need them just yet. I will probably end up getting them genuine though since I can get trade price on stuff like that. really??? ok.. can u tell us how much for these all machined up and ready to go?? i think myself and BYW will need to do a urgent order from somewhere?? nudge nudge, wink wink???
  10. 11. Hi all, well.. i am slightly annoyed... this guy has promised everything and delivered nothing. been ringing him on a fortnightly basis and grrrrrr... i cannot believe it.. its time to get serious with this.. my rotors are shot... Can someone please provide me with the technical info on the front rotors on diameter, thickness, stud spacing etc... the rears - i need to know the internal diameter for the handbrake etc as well as overall diameter for the disc.. i really dont want to get the OEM ones... so anyone willing to help this brake cause feel free... BYW, sorry man.. i am flying to sydney then to korea for a few weeks for work.. its been a bit chaotic work wise so havent had much time to drive the car yet alone think about the brakes.... i wished people just said they were not interested and be done with it.... if we can get blank rotors, i can get them machined out.. just need dimensions of everything.... to my TRD brethren, GET TO WORK!!!!
  12. sorry guys.. been chaos @ work the guy that is dealing with this has sent me an email saying his mum is ill and has to drop everything and had to go overseas... he has not forgotten about it and has apologised... reckons he will get back next wedensday and get straight into it.. he has found out quite a bit of info so will share the love as soon as i know..
  13. How much bigger are we talking. May be interested. the wilwoods were for a FPVv8. not sure which model... they are looking into this as another option as well. i think, and i could be wrong.. they were 400mm???? for the fronts... they guys have all the measurements... its just a matter of working it out now... i too said i may be interested with the bigger option if possible... but i said other members were getting to the same spot where new discs were needed... any preference for brand DJKOR?? they said wilwood was the most $$$ i think DBR or something were not too bad... i'll let u guys know as soon as i know.
  14. Ok guys.. well, yesterday was interesting.... these guys do alot of custom brake solutions for all sorts of cars.. drag cars, trikes... hot rods etc.... as stated elsehwhere in the forum i think.... front rotors = Ford, BA-BF model... except for the stud positions... the boys did sling on to the front rhs side of my car some 6pot wilwood calipers with HUGE rotors which took them all of about 4 mins... they did this before i could get any pics of it.. looked great, but KACHIIING $$$ !!!! rear rotors disc are a bit of a strange one.. They are holden, commodore type.. but the problem is the handbrake area... nothing major according to the boys as it can be machined out to suit... they spent alot of time measuring all the clearances for the rear... they would enquire this morning... they rang a supplier and the front are generally done with BLANK BF EBC rotors and are drilled to suit... my discs are slotted , where the wheel studs are, and u guessed it, with the track driving, they are shot.... so are the rears... thanks BYW!!!! they will get back to me either today or next monday.... BYW i showed them the city toyota quote... they said for that kind of money, they could supply some BIGGER aftermarket calipers and bigger discs for cheaper all round!!! hence why they tried the wilwood set to see whether the rims would clear it... and they do thats all i have for now.... enjoy the pics for those who dont have the pleasures of a TRD aurion brake headache!!! fyi, the owner of the brake place had a evo10 as his everyday drive.. i took his car for a spin and he took the aurion.. (he had heard about these cars but had never seen one) he said he loved it.. especially after the 4000rpm range... he said the VVT, supercharger combo in any of the gears was brilliant... for a daily driver, family & work car.. better then any FPV or HSV he had driven... Evo was great.. but was too clinical... and didnt understeer when pushed!!
  15. hey guys.. i havent heard from anyone , sooo, car is booked in this afternoon... the local guys here who machine disks from blank ebc rotors will look into this... i will get a price for front and rear rotors + pads if anyone needs them... if anyone is interested in a group buy, give me a hoy.. besides BYW here in perth.. does anyone need TRD rotors front and rears??? cheers retro.. byw, will give u a call as soon as i know.
  16. i have emailed greg.. with a link to here..... byw, that price sounds like for standard aurion rotors??? where was that from??? send me a pm with your number, i might give u a call... just slapped my computer around for the last few hours.. hopefully this post appears once
  17. sorry for the multiple post.. my antivirus keeps blocking webpages... grrrr.... BYW... i need rotors front and back so i am up for it... thats you and me in perth.... i'll see what i can arrange.. GSL rally sport.. you guys on here???
  18. BYW, i am in perth and have a spare set of pads both front and rear for my TRD 3500s which i bought from GSL rally sport... car is on 42000km and the pads are needing to get done soon.. if u need them asap, u r quite welcome to use them as long as you order me a replacement set!! i was dealing with them via email and had mentioned that most of us are getting to the stage where we will be needing new rotors... would it be wise to approach them with a group buy or something??? get them machined up etc....??? food for thought..

  20. Valid point. I am not able to go into the specifics of that without certainty so I will make no comment. My purpose of the thread was to provide information as to what is involved. The way I see it is that someone was going to realise this sooner or later and instead of getting a rough solution that can truly be unsafe, I wanted to at least provide a solution that would be less likely to cause any issues due to incorrect wiring. As for insurance related stuff, someone else's scenario may vary, but I drive with a camera recording every time I am on the road. May not solve the problem of a case like this, but an extra set of eyes so to speak can be useful. sorry guys... been away at work for awhile fuel miser brings up some valid points..... i do use my car for track days... and well, on a track day your insurance is void.... hence u need to get a special "day licence" or whatever it is in the event u r competing in... its the same with modding jetski's.... the product is claimed to be "of race use" only..... i would not use this on the street. why would you??? hence the ability to plug the module into the OEM harness was what i thought was a brilliant idea... most people driving aurions, whether they are the TRD version or not are not in the "general" hoon classification.... if i wanted to go 0-100km/h in under 3 seconds, i do that on the water.... not the road... the traction conrol is actually damn dangerous in a cornering situation as it tries to pull the car straight... try doing that on barbegello raceway before the main straight if u come screaming down the hill, about 180km/h, hard on the brakes, wheels turned.. accelerate.. it isnt understeer, the ABS is trying to bring the car to a "safe stop" having to do the "brakedance" (pun intended!!) everytime i start the car to do a lap is kinda funny... and sometimes u miss one step, and well... everyone is just looking at you like you're a fool.... its bad enough being the only FWD in the field with a few friends, but the TRD aurion is by no means hampered in performance in a field of v8's or xr6 turbo's in stock form.. perhaps make a feature where this can only be triggered when the transmission is in S mode and the button activated as what djkor has shown.. i think its a shame to can the idea.... thats just my 2 cents worth...
  21. hey guys.. sorry couldnt make it.. working down in bunbury 2day... maybe the next one.... hope it was fun... pics... and stranger danger issues??? :)
  22. understand you pain there... i havent modded any cars for years.. and those that i did had the easy option of piggy back ECU's if not complete plug in units that you could do anything with... Been modding jetski's for the last 4 - 5 years and have had similar issues... I use this supplier for various types of OEM connectors etc for the ski's that i have modded and worked on.. Whilst China may be the place they are made, I might be able to source them from the USA.. so they're bosch units... just wish we had the actual name... Most of the ski's i have worked on are SIemens ECU's and they're just as big a pain.. and a even smaller market!!! i wonder whether any of the wreckers have these in their yard yet?? still awesome work djkor.. i really like the idea of the off/on idea this isnt the right type.. but worth a look
  23. HI guys, awesome work on this.. wow.. does anyone know the "type" of connector that is used to go into the traction control ECU?? If there is enough interest and of course if the boys give their approval of guys that invented in, I may be able to get a friend to do a design and production run of a certain amount of boards so no wire cutting needs to be done?? My TRD has a few years of warranty left so I do not want to cut into the harness etc... Might be able to get some smarts programmed into it from a small type of PLC type controller that has already been made without too much hassle.. thats if we can get the male / female type connector sourced being the biggest issue so it plugs in series before the computers ECU.
  24. i'll try and make this one.. more chance then the sunday one metal13, sunday is out so sorry about that... as i live, work from home in mandurah, if i am up in town, i'll hang around and make it to innaloo... will post up on the day... err.. can u post up the address of sutorpro davo???
