  1. Hey guys, Just wanted to see if anyone is wanting to sell their corolla sportivos. PM me if your keen. Cheers.
  2. The cars done 220000kms. Oil thats running in it now is just way to thin.
  3. Appreciate the help mate. Just that the oil in the car now is heaps runny. Ill try it out.
  4. Didnt find anything in relation to the car specified and oil to use for it in the FAQ you suggested. If you know where it is then let me know.
  5. Hey guys, Just needed some help with choosing oil for a 1997 TOYOTA COROLLA AE102R CONQUEST. Does anyone know what the best oil is for this car? Cheers.
  6. Depending on what you agreed with your insurer when you first signed up with comprehensive insurance( that is, agreed value), you will get paid out the $20,000. However if the cars total damage equates to $10,000 or less, they will repair it for you. If the damage is more than $10,000 you will get paid out the $20,000.
  7. Hey Suprathai,

Just wanted to ask a quick question before i buy Mole's 2ZZ-GE powerFC for my sportivo. Ive read there is no point in getting the PowerFC without a proper tune. I noticed we live in the same city, Sydney. Since you have a powerFC on your sportivo, would you be able to let me know who tuned it for you so i can get it done properly?

    Thanks in advanced.

  8. You should go see any of the mechanics at Castle Hill Toyota, a few of the guys ive spoken to from there own sportivos.
  9. cheers mate, thanks for the info. I had another look at a different sportivo, same year model, one thing i did notice is that the muffler was smaller on the one that i thought had been in an accident compared to the stock one. Must have had the whole exhaust replaced after a rear end hit.
  10. Red facelift sportivo leylands parade in belmore heading towards canterbury road.
  11. Cheers mate, finally some proper information that i can actually use. Ill go back and get a proper look at the seals and what not. Only issue is that he has after market wheels on it, and the spare in the back is a factory wheel. He said he got the set of 4 after market wheels cheaper because he traded in the 4 original wheels in.
  12. That doesnt make any sense. I want to know if the reason the exhaust tip was switched is valid. I thought someone with experience in this aspect of an exhaust or the car in general would be able to deduce better reasoning than taking it to an exhaust shop. If it has in fact been in a rear ended accident, im not willing to invest in someone elses problem.
  13. That might be true, however if you knew how to repair a write off yourself, you wouldnt go through insurance which is the reason it would make it an official write off, you would repair it privately (which would void it from being listed as a write off). My query is based on distinguishing whether or not its a write off from the number plate.
  14. He specifically pointed and showed me that it was cut off from the muffler, then a new tip was welded on.
  15. I forgot to mention, he also stated that it was most likely with cars that are written off interstate then sent down to sydney.
  16. I heard it from a guy that regularly buys and fixes write offs. It didnt sound logical to me at first either, so i just wanted to know if anyone else had heard of it. Thanks for the input though.
  17. Hey guys, Went to go look at an 05 corolla sportivo today, car was pretty immaculate. Only downfall with the car, is that the exhaust tip was removed and i think an ascent exhaust tip was welded on. I asked the owner and he said that the stainless steel tip was too loud for his liking so he got it removed and put a "quieter" exhaust tip on instead. I was scratching my head with his reasoning, and i figured the car must have been in a rear end accident. He says it hasnt been in an accident before, which it doesnt look like. When i took it for a test drive i couldnt really make out any difference between the stock stainless steel exhaust noise or the after market one. Any guidance is appreciated.
  18. Hey guys, Just wanted to ask whether or not its possible to tell if a cars been written off before and repaired just by looking at the number plate. I heard that if the number plate is white with black font and has three letters which starts with a B and has 3 numbers to end it, it means that its been written off before and just repaired for a re-sell. Does anyone know if this is true? Any info on this topic it would be great.
  19. WTF is 'MIRIN' ?! Is this meant to mean 'admiring' ?? *must be getting on.....* its meant to be, R U 'MIRIN, COME AT ME BRO made famous by youtube sensation Zyzz.
  20. Hey guys, Ive found a really nice clean corolla to buy, however the owner doesnt have any log book with it. Its an 05 corolla sportivo, and apparently he bought it from the previous owner who didnt have the log book. The seller told me that the front bumper and left head light had been changed due to the car being in an accident, and that its been replaced with genuine toyota parts. The issue is though, is that the majority of 05 corolla sportivos ive looked at, are missing log books and have been in accidents. If anyone could give me some input on what they think, it would be greatly appreciated. I have also checked REVs and the car isnt listed, however it might have just been repaired privately so that insurance might not have had to list it on REVs. I know the majority of people say get an NRMA inspection done on it, but they mainly deal with mechanical aspects of the car and not really any chassis damage. Also, if i do buy the car and decide to sell it, would it be easy to trade into a dealer for cash, or would they require log books for the car as well? Cheers.
  21. Hey Kenneth,

Just wanted to ask you about the price of the Ep3. IMG have one in stock at the moment, and it looks pretty immaculate. However i just wanted to ask about the price, do you mind if i ask how much you picked yours up for, or if you were able to bargain yours down by a few thousand?

Also looking at 04 facelift Ep3 in cabramatta west on carsales, what do you think of it.

  22. Some people still live in this era: I don't hate the cannon muffler itself... so long as it is used properly. A car like a R34 Skyline putting down good numbers would be an example, but only where the cannon suits the style. I'd still prefer not, but if it had to go that way, that's an example where it is suitable. That era was the best thing that happened.
  23. It is cheap, but i guess he's just really good at getting a bargain.
