  1. Just replaced the original (Grandtrek ST30) tyres from my 2011 KX-R AWD. Got 81000kms from them with a few mm spare. Ended up getting Dunlop AT-3's (245 65/17) at $200 all in for each tyre. Jax tyres price matched Tempe tyres in Sydney. Jax website states 'best price guarenteed' . I called the local store and they initially wouldn't price match, so I contacted them via their Facebook page and a few days later the local store called me and said the would offer the price match. Gave me lots of whining about how they were only making less than $5 per tyre, the price they quoted me initially was $285. Other local stores wanted over $330 per tyre. The 'Australia tax' in full swing, glad I didn't have to pay it this time. Have a look on tirerack.com to see how much we are being ripped off!
  2. Hi, I have just had the same gearbox 'whine' issue resolved. I purchased my KX-R AWD from Narellan Toyota in Jan 2011 and have covered 55k. The service dept initially said the couldn't hear the noise so I took them out for a drive and this time they noticed it! Well 4 days later and the car has had the final drive pinion replaced and all is fixed. From what Terry Shields Parrammatta say, this is a modified part, so the noise should not re appear. I'll wait and see on that one. Can't really complain about the service dept at Narellan, didn't try and fob me off and they supplied a courtesy car.
  3. Hi all. I have a 2011 AWD KX-R. Mostly used on the freeway (M5 Sydney) and its currently indicating an average of 8.6. I usually fill up with E10. I don't really notice any improvement in performance or economy using 95 or 98. Overall fuel consumption is 9.6 for the last 40k, so pretty impressed overall
