  1. MC has the same unit which we installed.

Easy to install, plug and play install.

The EQ is basic, but remember, tune your amp, not the deck! ~ this theory applies across the board, regardless of quality / cost / features of your head deck.

You have to remember, you want the amp to get a fairly neutral sound. Reason: if you EQ the sound coming out of the deck and there is a hiss / hum / odd noise, you'll amplify it. Most good amps have some form of bass / treble control, so i would stick with that.

Also, your amp and head deck should be set for the same crossover frequency.

Of course, this is all useless if your going to use a DSP (Digital Signal Processor), but personally, these are not worth it.....unless you want comp grade sound.

    /end my 2 cents

  2. Hamster,

I'm a little confussed. You have a Foam Lance and you put wash and wax in it? What sort of Lance are you using? How much product (rough guess) do you think you sprayed on the car?

I ask because the autobrite snow foam and lance combo use about 30-60mm of product. I would hate to see people waste product oz "it's cheap"....that is all.

  3. Back Agian :)

DODO JUICE SUPERNATURAL HYBRID SEALENT / WAX

Like all dodo juice stuff, this product makes your hard efforts clay / polishing all worth while. A little bit harder to apply and not offering the same depth of colour as the "Soft Waxes", this product is designed to seal the paint work, while still providing a great shine. It should only be applied by hand with a foam applicator or supernatural finger mitt (as shown). Allow the product to bond to paint but don't let it "cake up", otherwise your working too hard for no extra gain!

The longevitity of this product is still unknown to me, but i'm sure it will do a great job.

  4. I know the one the one your talking about. Its a great little addition for GERNI, but as you mentioned.....it does use quite a bit.

I think www.carecareproducts.com.au are having a sale on the foam lances atm and the snow foam (now called MagiFoam) dosn't cost that much.

I would only use this as a pre-wash (loosen and remove heavy soiling), not as a replacement for 2 bucket method of washing.

    Hope this helps

  6. Just a quick question for people with foam lances.

Do you dilute your soap with warm water or leave it concentrated?

Depnds on the Lamce. The autobrite lance lets you regulate the amount of SnowFoam coming out. The CarCareProducts.com.au guys reckon you should use about 40-80mm per wash / application.

    Hope this helps ;)

  7. has the site been changed. Most of the new posts I've looked at have ads for pills etc about a page long. This sux.

before you rail agaist the upgrade, can I suggest you try something like Ad-Block Plus for firefox if the ad's are such a HUGE deal. Ad-Block Plus does wonders on all my fav news sites / auction sites.

Remember: Change is enevatable, progress is optional :)

  8. Just rang and they said system is down and couldn't see my car as having the 3 yrs extended warranty. Lol, all used cars there has it so wtf!!! Anyway the service guy said it's $199 and he'll put something in writing.

If they don't honour it, i have to think if it's worth escalating or just forgo it. $200 and a fair travel distance to the dealership isn't something i'm 100% keen on.

I'm with Tash, I dont trust my local dealers to service my car (western suburbs SYDNEY). I drive a shade under 200km (Bathurst Toyota, were I got the car from) to get mine done.

I think if you find dealer that offers no BS and does a great job, travel shouldn't be a factor even worth mentioning.........and besides.....make a day of it and explore the local area while your there :)

  9. When you live in Adelaide, 34 is just warming up. Hot is like 36 to 42. BUT, its a dry heat here.

Mind you i hate any heat, but 34 is quite reasonable here... Now if it was 34 and 80% humidity, i would die. Seriously.

The air-con seats in the LS prevent SBS, and the normal front air con is by far the best I've felt in any car... The rear air con is pretty nifty tho too, when i have my chauffeur driving me around, sipping ice cold vodka from my rear chill box in the back seat..... Did i mention that the LS is f@ckin great?? and cold?

This is why I hate you :P :whistling:

  10. I'd just touch up paint chips and such myself, the car isn't worth getting a professional respray on. The detail is just for my learning purposes.

If I was to do the detail on a panel by panel basis, would I be best to start from the top (roof/boot/bonnet) or bottom (front/rear bumper) first?

There really isn't a set order to do the panels. From personal experience, the tailgate on hatches need the most work as this is where the water / dirt / grime accumulates. This area will need the most work (clay, polish wax wise) I would spend a good hour just on this section.

Next, I would goto town on the roof. Again, spend time here as this gets all the sun plus the dirt / grime stick and bake onto the paint here. After this, just work on the remaining panels.

If you want to spread out the detailing time, can i suggest a maximum of 2 weeks. I say this so your great effort doesn't look patchy in the end.

    /my 2 cents

slighty off topic: where are you based, BG Pete House of Awesome Car Cleaning might be near by :P
