  1. Unfortunately yes, I just got recommended to them from other ppl with stivos
  2. ohok so its common for stivo rollas? My exahust has lost some of its bark, so disapointed, i dunno what it could be. Muffler is not hollow ive knocked on it, so :S
  3. The ticking noise comes with what sorry? Lol have u experienced this? The bassy sound as the revs die is replaced with a non bassey decreasing brrrr sound, what u think it is?
  4. Has this happened to u? Apart from replacing exahust components such us the resonators & muffler how can I fox this problem?, cleaning the inside of the pipes? I'm sure it shouldn't sound like this that quickly.?
  5. I'm basically spewing, I've spent the $$$ & it seems that my exahust that had a nice mellow bassey deepness has now changed within a month or so of installment to a mild 'putty brrring' sound as the revs die INSTEAD of a deep bassey decreasing tone as the revs die. I know about the 'breaking in of the packing' but its suppose to get deeper after a month b4 it starts to sound hollow. What can be wrong, can it be due to any other factor not related to the exahust set up? The deepness has diminished. My set up: Hurricane extractors/2.5" mandrel bent piping/highflow cat/ 2x small glass pack resonators & a straight through oval muffler.
  6. Tuning costs can vary between $120 and $200/hr, and time taken between 2 and 3 hours depending on skill (more money, less time). As for the cold start, how old is yuor battery? Could also be it's just colder, batteries don't like discharging when it is cold. Could also be placebo effect, you think there is something wrong so you are looking for something. I actually bought a new battery about 2 months ago, but only realised it the issue with the car taking longer to start up about 2 weeks ago. Also I jst did a test drive around the block, the deepness of the exahust is sort of diminishing, I have only had the exahust for 2 months, it actually supposed to get deeper b4 it gets louder (packing burning out). When I pulled up to the curb, a ticking noise from te engine bay was noticeable (usually I just hear fans and my CAI) and the exhaust sounded abit putty :s
  7. Hey, can any1 recommend someone to wire & tune a Power FC & how much it would cost. Ps. I am also looking to buy a 2nd hand PFC. Also: I've noticed today my car sounds different as in my exahust not sounding as mean & just sounds abit thrashed (but not engine burning out thrashed) lol will servicing fix this? If this helps, it takes abit longer for my car. To start now than a week ago.
  8. Ay lol I know a guy named Ali who's cousin or friend owned that wrx With that number plate, it just clicked in my mind. Lmao
  9. Really? How much r u selling the PFC 4? I have CAI/ Hurricane Headers&2.5" exhaust system. Nah I was thinking of getting RNN4MK (Runnin-A-Muck) as my plate.
  10. Hey, Im thinking of scrapping the idea of doing my cams as I don't see the real worth in it regarding the $$$:Performance ratio. DO the stage 2 cams really blow the stock cams out the water & will the following set up be a good option?: CAI/2.5" mandrel bent piping w/high flow cat/hurricane extractors<--- all of which I have & want to add ---> PPE Intake manifold & tuned Unichip. If theirs anything else that will improve performance of ur knowlege please post :)
  11. Hey, This is something i may need, where I can get this intake manifold & do u know where they r available man?
  12. I don't think the gains match what MWR publish, but then again MWR had CAI and full exhaust on their car to show up the gains, I don't. If you run on the stock ECU, don't bother, if you can put a programmable ECU in there then the gains are good. At about 6000 rpm I have a 15kW gain over stock. The graph doesn't look as impressive as it drives though (when driven hard). It's hard to recommend one way or the other with such a major modification. Depends on what you are trying to get out of the car. But if money can extend to valve train upgrades the stage 3 cams are meant to be much better. If you want plenty of low end go, stay with stock. Yeah ur making about 112 kw atw with stage 2 cams & a PFC if I'm reading it correctly? & a CAI & full exhaust system inc extractors & PPE intake manifold add another 15 kw+ atw?? as Matt from MWR assured around 134-138 kw atw with these mods which is pretty good as my mates r33 skyline gts-t is 140kw atw if I could make that comparison?.
  13. A picture says a thousand words. Without engine management the stage 2 cams follow the PowerFC curve. How do these results compare to MWR dyno results ?Sorry Dave my net data is sloww, & Also r these cams really worth it in ur opinion? To me the stock cam profile indicate the intake side of the engine is restrictive. DDPerformance research's intake manifold sees good gains to back this up. Obviously exhaust mods give gains, but the intake modifications give more.
  14. Yeah I've got Hurricane extractors/2.5" piping w/ highflow cat & a Simota Twin Charger CAI, it goes but Im bored now so I want it to go harder if u know what I mean - 1.5 yrs until I get my full license.
  15. Really? I would have thought that these stg 2 cams would turn the stock stivo into a totally different car. How much kw are you producing atw, & were ur Dyno results close to the ones shown on MWR for stg 2 piper cams tuned?
  16. Gee, if only they made a set of cams with these combined qualities. Smh. The stage 2 cams seem appealing (according to Dyno figures shown by MWR) as it provides some extra torque which the stivo very much needs. I will be using the car on the street, most driving on weekends but also would like to have a worthy vehicle to race at te track. My goal is to turn this car into a little beast :) but keeping n/a 4 now (p's, fml) & not going too overboard esp in terms of $. What set up r u running?
  17. Thanks SD! Would u say having the tuned stage 2 cams in ur stivo makes a big noticeable difference? And being more fun than having that feeling @ lift?
  18. Ok, so I'm thinking of upgrading to stage 3 piper or MWR cams with an aftermarket ecu. If I was to go ahead with the upgrade would I still feel "LIFT" or will it just zoom up 2 the redline smoothly?? (Ps. Anyone running the stg 2 cams & aftr mrkt ecu setup? & how does your car go?)
  19. 2.5" mandrel bent piping/hurricane extractors/ highflow cat with 2xsmall straight thru glasspack resonators with straight thru muffler & simota twincharger CAI
  20. Well the CAI is a long ram and ends near my fog lights, above 2000k rpm it definently pulls harder and performs better, I just found this abit odd :s
  21. I have just realized after getting my full exhaust system inc. Extractors & a CAI, that when I take off at the lights there feels like their is absolutely no power under 2000 rpm & when it does reach 2k rpm it sort of pulls/jerks with power. I'm not sure if this is normal or a problem after getting these mild mods.
  22. SIMOTA TWIN CHARGER CAI is also one you can look at. it sounds crazy and performance improvement is very noticeable. Available at Shift Performance near Liverpool on the Hume Highway. $299. Specifically made for the facelift stivos' fitting issue.
  23. and while ur at it, take it off and do the black headlight surround mod! Where can I find the black surround headlights for the stivo, any specific places or sites? I've been looking for a while and was going to tint them with crystalite film which is apparently legal.
  24. Smh Sorry for the way these replies r posted I'm on a my iPhone & new to this. Anyway, I have a CAI & Exahust system & looking to get my manifold ported & polished. Which MWR or piper cams would you suggest for the best possible performance for the street/track? I'm abit turned off the piper stage 3 as torque is less in midrange so possibly less fun to drive on the rd? The Dyno results for the MWR cams only show from like 4000+ onwards.
