  1. As a side note to the point of starting car with clutch pedal pressed in, all new manual Toyota's won't start unless the clutch pedal is pressed in. Its a good safety point and good for avoiding clutch hopping.
  2. Maybe if Toyota has seen the car. Toyota would already know about it. They would have to give permission for the Toyota and Yaris names to be used in the demonstration.
  3. If you're losing fuel efficiency I would DEFINITELY get the car dynotuned. I had my V8 Commodore tuned on a dyno after adding CAI and I gained an extra 9kw's and 39k's to a tank. It depends how long the CAI has been on, sometimes it takes a couple of tank fulls for the ecu to adjust to the extra airflow. Just my own experiences, if it helps then good.
  4. Is there proof the car is going into production? It may only be a prototype destined only for dreamers imaginations.
  5. Join the U.S. Army and get to drive one on a regular basis. Only draw back, you either get killed thru friendly fire (what's friendly about that), or one of Saddams mates gets a hold of ya.
  6. There is one for sale in Melb for $176k, black and massively big. Can't imagine the fuel costs but then if you can afford to buy it you can afford to run it, maybe.
  7. It seems from the lack of written material that it has been a while since Melbourne Members had a meet, greet and cruise. So how about it? Post some dates, possibly September some time once the weather picks up a bit. How about 30th September early evening?
  8. That's correct. When making colours for painting white is considered a colour. Its a lot technical to explain but some colours are produced by varying the amount of white pigment that is used. Depending on what colour is required for the final choice anything from 10% to 70% of white pigment can be excluded in manufacturing process. Other colours can be produced by using red bases, blue bases, green bases, brown bases etc..
  9. The only true colours from a paint perspective are white, blue, red and yellow. Black is a shade derived from blue, orange is a shade derived from red as is pink. I could get all technical and bore the ****es out of ya's but I don't have the time or motivation. :D
  10. As I am new to the Toyota scene can someone please tell me where to get hold of TRD merchandise, in Melbourne, dealership where I purchased car doesn't stock it.
  11. Fifth generation Aussie. My wife is from Philipines, our daughter is half/half but looks like an Anglo, no sign of Asian bloodline if you didn't know when looking.
  12. Hi everyone!! I'm Ross, new to this forum due to my taking delivery of my brand new Yaris YRX on Friday21/6/06. Was previously owner of an old but grunty Commodore V8, but due to rising fuel costs and probs with car(falling apart) decided to add to my debt balance and buy a new more fuel efficient car. Have driven lots of Toyota's over the last 5 yrs with my work and always found them to be reliable, good with fuel, longevity of equipment and overall a good driving experience. So here I am and look forward to contributing to threads and postings. B)
  13. It looks good but, the rear wing is a bit of overkill. Does the gorgeous looking asian girl in the first photo come with the car??? B)
