  1. Hi Touror_V

I was just wondering if you have a manual for a Toyota Supra JZA80 non turbo

If you do Touror_V can you please reply to me at whiteknite@gmail.com

    thanx

Considering this thread has been inactive since September 2008 (and the member hasn't even been online since Nov '08) I doubt you're going to get an answer...

  2. On the one at work is there a sticker on the tray for the company that made them, I'm pretty sure the ones in Darwin had a sticker with the name of the engineering company that made them.

The mudflaps are usually a good indicator, in my experience the tray manufacturers almost always fit their own branded mudflaps (around Newcastle the predominant one is Dutch for instance, Sydney is often Bocar)

  3. heres another one thats been bugging me:

why the FU#K do the spanish risk their lives by having the Pamplona bull run? I have no bloody clue as to why they do it? they must think along the lines of "you will get 10000000000000000000000000000000000000 virgins if u die by this bull here in Madrid. <_< -_-

Tradition goes a loooong way. Plenty of traditional things around the world would not be allowed on safety or sanity reasons if they hadn't already been going on for hundreds of years. Classic case of Grandfather Clause. The Monaco GP is another example, if it were to leave the grand prix calendar it wouldn't be allowed to return because the circuit would be deemed unsafe under current regulations.

The amazing thing is that only 15 people have died in the Bull Run in the last 90 years...

  4. Heard Toyota and BMW are teaming up now after the success of the 86 and creating the new Supra due in 4-5 Years

Only if it will have a diesel engine, which is what the partnership is about.

    http://smh.drive.com.au/motor-news/bmw-toyota-to-codevelop-sports-car-20120630-2190i.html

"BMW and Toyota confirmed plans that will see the two car makers jointly conceive, engineer and produce a new sports car as part of a broad reaching technical partnership that is also set to centre around lightweight constructions, fuel cell development and hybrid powertrains.

The announcement of the partnership, which builds on an existing agreement for the supply of BMW diesel engines for various Toyota models from 2014 onwards, follows the signing of a memorandum by BMW boss Norbert Reithofer and Toyota chairman Akio Toyoda in Munich, Germany."

Partnership includes hybrid and fuel-cell technology, and the new Supra has been touted for ages to have a hybrid drivetrain (conventional power to the rear wheels, electric to the front), so it doesn't have to be a diesel...

  5. Hiro, you should just buy my trd one, it's mint condition will work out cheaper than JP

:P at the moment it is still cheaper to get it from overseas (including shipping to my door it's about $170 at current bid) :D If it falls through then I'd definitely consider it

  6. That's the swaybar drop-link, nothing to do with camber (I assume the seal you are referring to is for the ball-joint on the link). Easy to get a new pair (always get a pair, because chances are the other side will be pretty bad too) or a second-hand set from the wreckers (they'll only be like $20), just be careful taking them off as you need a ring spanner and an Allen key (key to hold the ball joint shaft in place, ring spanner to undo the nut), and the Allen key hex is very easy to strip/round.

  7. Great night out guys, could have used a few more at dinner though :P

Nice to see so many people rock up to the Greenacre meet though, catch up with old friends and meet some new faces too.

Highlight of the night was definitely Duy managing to lock his car inside a apartment block secure carpark when trying to get a park for the dinner :P

  8. From the NSW Gov't website:

June 2012 - Pickup/Cab Chassis 4x4 Vehicles Fitted With Bull Bar and Winch

Information has come to hand that 4x4 pickup/cab chassisvehicles may exceed the manufacturers limit for front axle weights when fitted with a steel or alloy bull bar and winch.

Generally vehicles fitted with a bull bar and winch can carry up to 2 people and a small amount of gear before the front axle load limit is exceeded. Investigations with vehicle manufacturers are progressing, however at this stage it appears that all manufacturers are affected by this issue to some degree. The removal of the winch may allow for the addition of a third person in the cabin for dual cabs.

Most manufacturers do not recommend a bull bar for their vehicles and most do not supply a manufacturer approved bull bar. ANCAP ratings are also compromised by the fitment of a bull bar.

All Fleet Managers should critically examine the operational and safety need for a bull bar on any vehicle.

On 4x4 pickup/cab chassisvehicles, Fleet Managers should also determine if there is a need for a winch and where possible have it removed. The winch, if supplied by StateFleet, must be returned with the vehicle when it is due for disposal at lease end.

As such StateFleet has decided not to offer a bull bar and/or winch on any 4x4 pickup/cab chassis unless the Department or Agency has work statements in place for the whole Department or Agency that deals with this issue. If StateFleet has copies of those statements for the Department or Agency, then a bull bar and/or winch package can be specified in the Special Instructions of the vehicle order and will be supplied. The use of the vehicle with the winch/bull bar package will then be the responsibility of the Department or Agency staff.

Please note that the bull bar and or winch will no longer be available on the 4x2 pickup/cab chassis vehicles.

The only effective approved suspension upgrade package on the market is for the Toyota Hilux. It is provided by Lovells and this fitment provides an approved compliance plate upgrade to 1500kg for front axle. StateFleet will be offering this as accessory on all 4x4 pickup/cab chassisToyota Hilux vehicles.

Any new vehicles that have been ordered with a bull bar and winch can be amended to remove the winch if there is a likelihood of more than 2 staff members travelling in the vehicle. Again the Department must have a work statement in place.

If the vehicle is already at the dealership and fitted with the bull bar and winch, Fleet Managers should contact StateFleet purchasing to see if arrangements can be made for the Purchase Order to be amended.

Note this is not a Toyota-specific thing, is not a recall, nor is it industry-wide, nor an issue with factory-supplied or fitted accesories. It is simply an internal directive to government fleets about not potentially overloading a vehicle by adding further accessories than recommended by the manufacturer.
